Hmm, this is the organisation that pays some of its top people $500,000 or thereabouts and spends incredible sums on PR and marketing. And now they are saying that we destroy people's lives....what a way to frighten people into giving money to them, eh?
Who would want to be in a relationship with someone autistic after that, or hire them, or give them a chance at school, or be their friend? They are destroying our lives and our chances, I believe, by portraying us like this.
Even the most profoundly autistic and non-verbal of us is a person, worthy of love, of respect, of a future.
Hooray for those that speak back to them to give a sense of balance. |

That video made me angry and sad.  
It hits me that, once again, it's only described what the family to an autistic kid experiences of pain, embarrassment and whatnot - and not a single word about what the autistic person experiences! It's the parents who have the suffering, as we all know......  Well, why don't they diagnose them too as "autism co-sufferers"? Well, no, they aren't co-sufferers, but the only sufferers...
What about a video like this?
"I am Neurotypicalism.
I stand behind every corner to bully you, if you are autistic.
I know where you live. And I live there too in your relatives who misunderstand you.
I make you cry every day in school.
I submit you to rules you don't understand - even though you really ought to.
I give you overloads with my weapon of mass-socialization...." 
... and so on.
And no. It's not to claim that "NTs are like that". But it's in the same style as Autism Speaks themselves.
I'm glad that we don't have anything of that kind in Denmark. |

This is persecution of an innocent people, pure and simple. It's generalizing and lying based on some anecdotes. One can demonize anything with those words.

| As far as I'm concerned Autism Speaks can go suck lemons. I haven't seen the video and frankly I don't want to. There are no groups like it in NZ but people do not believe I have a disability because I'm good at schoolwork. People have to learn to learn about the truth about things like autism instead of being blinded by curebie propaganda. |

My parody/response to the recent video attack from “Autism Speaks”
I am melanin (skin pigment). I am caused by a tragic genetic defect that pervades all areas of a person’s life. I am not tolerable in certain cultures. My existence inspires hatred, oppression, violence and murder, and a climate which leads to self-doubt, depression, anxiety, anger, lowered IQ, underachievement and institutionalization.
I am double X-chromosome (female). I am caused by a tragic genetic defect that pervades all areas of a person’s life. I am not tolerable in certain families and cultures. My existence inspires oppression, abuse, mind control, violence, mutilation and infanticide, and a climate which leads to self-doubt, depression, anxiety, and underachievement.
I am Rh-negative (blood type). Rh disease is caused by an incompatibility between a mother and her baby. Once a woman becomes sensitized, my existence will cause a mother’s Rh antibodies to cross the placenta and attack her fetus.
I am autism. I am caused by a tragic genetic defect that pervades all areas of a person’s life. My neurological differences and learning styles, if allowed to develop in their own ways, would blossom into a basic honesty and a need to see the world in rational terms; traits which are not tolerable in certain families and cultures. If untreated, such families and cultures will attack their own people, believing that anyone who can not be assimilated must be destroyed. My existence inspires hatred, emotional abuse, oppression, mind control, forced substance abuse, violence, murder and infanticide, and creates a toxic culture which leads to self-doubt, depression, anxiety, lowered IQ, underachievement, brain damage and institutionalization.
Such families and cultures will attempt to stunt the growth of their children’s areas of strength (out-of-the-box thinking) in the magical hope that this will facilitate development in the areas of their perceived deficits (lack of herd-instinct) thus making them unfit for any role outside of an institution. |

Excellent response by Ne'eman. There's a few ugly, but revealing comments on the YT page -- someone saying that his not being self-supporting invalidates his message that autistic people can have lives worth living. 'No job' == 'worse than pediatric AIDS/a life not worth living,' apparently. (I'd hate to be that guy's grandma.)
