of the teethpaste and mouthwashes out there, what's the best?

I'd like something antibacterial, something that can dissolve plaque (the gooey kind) and something with a very fine polishing abrasive. Antibacterial because It's my understanding that human mouths are germier that those of dogs. Disturbing.

And I call it "teethpaste" because "toothpaste" suggests one who uses it has a singular tooth.

I'd like a mouthwash that I can tolerate having on my tongue for more than two seconds. Perhaps if the teethpaste is going to be antibacterial, the mouthwash should be anti-fungal. In the absence of bacteria in a moist environment, fungi will thrive.

Perhaps reverse them. Anti-fungal teethpaste and an antibacterial mouthwash? Either way, I just want a clean mouth and know it's cleaner than a dog's after I brush.

I use Tom's of Maine natural toothpaste. I can't stand conventional toothpastes; the synthetic mint taste is just way too strong.
This one does the job just fine.

[joke]

Wanna know why it's called toothpaste? Because it was invented in Arkansas.

Dun dun soosh.

I like regular Colgate 12 hour protection and the store brand mouth wash seems to do a pretty good job.

The one I like best is Scensidine (forgive me if I miss-spell.) I like to use Arm and Hammer, because it makes my mouth feel cleaner. Unfortunatly, the light layer of skin on my cheeks and tongue has been comming off with that brand, so I am going to put myself on another type. I'm not quite sure if the brush is responcible. Doesn't hurt, but Mad sheesh it's a little rough for paste isn't it

I use aquafresh and listerine. But I'd prefer the sweeteners were taken out. The taste stays in your mouth.

toothpaste is a nasty toxoc soup - just use a plain castile soap with no additives.

'perfect perscription' toothsoap is OK

For best results you should use a good quality toothpaste as well as bicarbonate of soda. As far as mouth washes go, I use Listerine. It works quite well.

Toothpaste: Crest Pro Health (they have daytime and night time versions)
Mouthwash: Listerine Advance

It leaves my mouth so clean! I LOVE IT!

My mom uses that. Apparently it's pretty good.
But I use Arm and Hammer: http://www.myoralcare.com/ baking soda is a great cleaning agent. :3 It's good for both bacteria and fungus. And the taste is sort of pleasant.
I don't think you need mouth wash if you drink enough water. I used to have bad breath because I didn't drink enough, but I always have a water bottle with me now and haven't had bad breath in years.

PS lmao @ Audiophile
