Without wanting to sound like a fanboy, I'm suggesting the 360. Online is way better, worth paying for even. As an owner of both systems I definatly recommend 360. Still, you should look to see which console has the exclusives you'd enjoy the most.
PS3 has
-Metal Gear Solid 4
-Killzone
-Uncharted
-Little Big Planet
+more
whereas 360 has
-Halo
-Gears of War
-Dead Rising
-Left 4 dead
+more
Also Klint, I'll respectfully disagree with you. I don't think PS3 has more exclusives, infact I'm fairly sure. And I know without doubt that Xbox Live has a better selection of downloadable games. To be honest, I was extremly disappointed by PSN's lack of downloadable games

Thanks for the input people.
I am veering more towards the 360 Jaspar model. I think the main thing that would have drawn me to the ps3 is the free online play plus Final Fantasy which I have long been a fan of. But I can still play a good number of those on my ps2 I guess. |

the xbox has better online services, and has the potential to increase the memory size to as big as you can afford if you can find a Plug'n'play external harddrive, (ones that don't need drivers to use) also the Xbox now has a Skyplayer Feature released yesterday (5/10/09) so if you subscribe to Sky Multiroom you can use the feature at no extra charge, also a FF game will be coming to the 360, along with a MGS game and there is also the impending Release of project Natal, which uses your body as a controller which WAY more powerful than the Wii.
the Xbox also has the exclusive GTA content, the lost and the damned and the ballad of gay tony whereas the PS3 doesn't
