About a year ago I was told about antivirus freeware available on the net that people SWORE by, but can't remember what it was. Does anybody know of anything like this?

You could also try MacOS X and just laugh at the whole "virus thing".

DO NOT USE AVG !!

It is really bad, the amount of viruses it lets through it unacceptable.

A better free AV is Avast, but it does require quite a bit of RAM.

I my fav is NOD32, really lite and scores really high in detecting viruses. Unfortunately its not free, but its well worth buying !

I agree with Avast, I am using it for years now and I never had a problem with it. Avast is better than AVG on a lot of points.

I use OS X. Whenever people talk about viruses I laugh. Although it would be possible to write one on OS X, you're only going to get it if you deliberately install something stupid.
