I find candy upsets my stomach these days but I would much appreciate a fragment of the True Cross if I can outsnarl ruveyn. Unfortunately, I am not a cold blooded as ruveyn and I do not favor outright murder of silly people since they are rather useful in keeping the world in function. Education and perhaps a piece of candy, where that is acceptable, is a far more kind solution.

According to current polls (as of 11:06 PM central Canadian time), it is Awesomelyglorious rather than ruveyn who you must outsnarl.

And, heck, I'll even add in Lenin's embaled corpse just for fun (and to spur DentArthurDent into becoming competitive)!

By the way, how is the "other" who has not been named in this thread!

I voted for Awesomelyglorious, since he seems most outspoken about it - but see below.

I hadn't even realized ruveyn was atheist. Maybe I got fooled by posts showing that blind spot about Israel that seems more typical of very smart Jews - granted, including atheist ones - or perhaps he's just been atheist for enough decades to be reasonable about it.

The truth is, none of the atheists on this forum are nearly as obnoxious about it as the fundamentalist atheists I know, both from other forums and in person.

I will gladly accept AG since he is far better informed on the subject and much better detailed than I am although I do feel he could do with a bit more venom. I will consider donating a Mars Bar or a lollipop of his choice if that becomes appropriate.

He does reject outright, he merely accepts the cultural aspect. He rejects the mysticism and the deity part and those are the important parts to reject.

I suppose that is true, but I would still say Sand is more forceful in his rejection of religion.

I don't reject religion practiced privately and which is not deployed for political ends.

What people believe in the quietness of their private existence does not concern me. In fact it is none of my business. When they lay a religious trip upon others, particularly in a repressive or violent way, then I object most strenuously.

Everyone has religious or quasi-religious notions or some kind of philosophy to comprehend their place in the cosmos. It is a human thing. I can hardly object to that. Having a view does not mean one has to be obnoxious about it. Having a religious view or opinion is one thing, using it to justify flying a plane into a tall building is another thing.

Or, of course, shooting gynecologists. (You do insist on sticking your signature so far down in your posts that my comments keep getting entangled with the quotes)

Look, I'll just say this: I was one of the people to argue against the presuppositional apologist of minor note Sye TenBruggencate of "proofgodexists.org" (as some of the members here will know and have witnessed). Sye is a man who has been interviewed by Eric Hovind http://erichovind.blogspot.com/2009/11/ ... art-1.html , and who appears twice on the list of atheism vs theism debates here: http://commonsenseatheism.com/?p=50 . He may not be a worthy opponent, but opposing him gives credence to my atheism street cred that cannot be denied.

I am Awesomelyglorious, destroyer of gods, vote for me!

Smash Vox Day in a battle of rhetorical brutality (and intellectual paucity) and you would hands down win this poll.

Where is that earlier debate with the apologist, by the way?

Vox Day...... oh hell no..... that would be mind poison!

Have you read his exchange with Luke Muehlhauser? I mean, Luke is trying to have a reasoned discussion, and Vox was just an outright jerk.

I can't find the debate at the moment. I mean, Orwell remembers the debate, and I think he just found it. Hopefully he'll post it.

Yeah, earlier I was reading stuff he said which denigrated vocal atheists and people on the autistic spectrum (i.e. by associating asperger's with vice and disagreeable behaviour).

Back in my politically formative days I got upset about that type of trite - now I'm rather indifferent to it. I've become jaded to nonsense notions.

Heh, yeah, I don't bother reading him. There is no reason to as the man is a genuine jerk. Not even worthy of the little bit of attention he gets.

His exchanges with fnord are amusing.

"What standard of proof do you require, so I know how to convince you?"

"I want physical evidence."

"That's arrogant! God exists by the argument I already gave!"

I would vote for Awesomelyglorious being the most evil atheist or perhaps autotheist. :P
