| I do. Only one bit though. That belief is regarding the unhealthiness of fast food, that should be regulated. I also border on radicalism with the fact that we need certain obscenity and some indecency laws (although it will be better if they voluntarily stopped being indecent. |

Depends on who the audience is but, for the sake of generalities, for a TV audience on CNN or something like that; I'd say I still have more than two radical views. Legalization of prostitution, all currently illegal drugs (even the bad ones), a maximum wage (though, I'd say, if a corporation wishes to spend its money on luxuries for its executives then it's their prerogative but only done through the company name), null vote, (considering some political legacy families) possibly a limit on how many family members/generations can hold certain offices, limit the ability of dual citizens to hold public office or public appointments (especially in federal government positions). _________________ Wherever they burn books they will also, in the end, burn human beings. ~Heinrich Heine, Almansor, 1823

One of my Radical Ideas is that to hold a high office, the office holder must wear a radio controlled explosive device around his neck. If 60 percent of the people he represents or has jurisdiction over send in a negative judgment the device explodes blowing the guy's head off. If he removes the device that is a resignation of the office.
Think of it as recall on steroids.

| I believe that prostitution, gambling, and incest should all be legalized. I'm sort of on the fence when it comes to drugs, but I'm leaning toward them being legalized as well. |

I support muncipal sales tax and given muncipalities constitutionally recognized rights, I support abolishing the monarchy in Canada, I want "God" removed from the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, I support a carbon tax, I support taxing churches, I support a global financial transaction tax, I support anti-scab legislation, and I support an elected United Nations Parliamentary Assembly. I also think heads of G8 nations should be eligible for trial over War Crimes. I also want it easier for workers to "recover" failed factories. I also tend to oppose hate speech laws, though I am the first to say social equality is one of the highest virtues a society can have.
These, depending on your perspective, may be "radical" ideas.

I think any society under your idea would quickly disintegrate, if only because some people might start pushing for disfavor just to see heads blown off. |
it's a satisfying idea, but probably not that practical.
i think if you replace the death-collar with a mandatory top hat that displays his approval/disapproval ratings as well as a few other metrics that the top hat wearing leader would choose to be represented by. obama would have had healthcare reform last year, for instance, and oil spill now.
and he has to wear the hat any time he's not in bed or showering.
no need for presidential assassination for a 60% disapproval rating, just make them acknowledge our opinion of them and their policies every time they look in the mirror.
oh yeah, and put up more mirrors in the white house. _________________ Waltur the Walrus Slayer,

on that subject, i think the president should get at least 3 concubines. hilary clinton is a statesman (which helps illustrate part of why she shouldn't have to blow bill) and has better things to do than suck Slick Willie's willy during the work-day. some people can't have a conversation with a foreign dignitary without a cup of coffee first, some prefer a stronger drink.
i mean, c'mon. it's not like he interrupted his work to do any of that philandering. he kept working while doing it :) |
