I'd seen this before, but in case others had not, thought to post. Thought the possible link of a lack of sunshine/ vitamin D3 during gestation leading to autism interesting.

"On the aetiology of autism"
http://www.vitamindcouncil.org/PDFs/can ... autism.pdf

Opening paragraph from the paper:

Quote:
I have suggested that the primary environmental trigger for autism is not vaccinations, toxins or infections, but gestational and early childhood vitamin D deficiency (1,2). Subsequently, the title of an article in Scientific American recently asked, ‘What if vitamin D deficiency is a cause of autism?’ (3) Since then, an article on vitamin D and autism in Acta Paediatrica (4) and the accompanying commentary (5) have added to the accelerating suspicion that vitamin D deficiency – either during pregnancy or early childhood – may be an environmental trigger for the genetic disease of autism.

It could play a part in it actually.

But bare in mind many many things such as Glutomates in the form of food additives, Aspartame, Fluoride, Air pollution, Cosmetic chemicals, Mould in the air, Candida etc etc etc may all play their parts.

A females breast milk contains more toxins than any milk in the world after all. All those same toxins are going into the developing child.

I wasn't aware of the problem with human breast milk. Do you have a link to further info?

Yeah here are a few things I just got through google. Some of which say the levels are low. But to me, even if in some cases they are low a young baby is not going to see any benefit from toxins on a daily basis.

A lot of the toxins can be food additives, chemicals in anti-bacterial soap ( http://www.naturalnews.com/029006_antib ... oxins.html ), air pollution, shower gel and a whole load of other things can all contribute.

People also need to consider that all these same things can do even more damage to a child when they are still in the womb. The placenta has been shown to, on average to contain 9 pesticides according to a person I know. Here is an example of that: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/20 ... 104811.htm

Since I know a little bit about all of these toxins effects and I know quite a bit about nutrition, it is no surprise me to that children, and adults too have more wrong with than they ever had. There are other social causes to disorder / disability / illness but toxins / nutrition play the biggest part I guess.

That could be really depressing if you think about it very much. This problem to whatever extent it exists is one more reason to advocate environmentalism, as I do.

Environmentalism is a big part of it and just making people value their health is another.
