There have been times when I didn't wear makeup, but my aunt got me into mineral foundation and I love the stuff. Usually I wear the foundation with blush and lipstick. My new makeup actually has an SPF of 15 and it doesn't clog my pores the way most foundations do, it's so light I often forget I'm wearing makeup and have fallen asleep with it on. I get the occasional pimple before my period, and the foundation does a great job covering it up without causing more breakouts. For me, it looks natural, almost as if I'm not wearing any makeup which is what I prefer. _________________ "I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason,

i judt dont feel theres any neeed for it, and its uncomfortable to wear it. only time is lip balm that is not glossy. i find glossy lips awful on any one.
it not that i cant be bothered to wear it i just dont like te feel of it, and i have no requirement for it as im not ugly lol

I found Bare Essentials Mineral Makeup. It's not a liquid, but a powder that looks natural and this too, is easy enough to forget you have on. It's quick and easy (the starter kit has a video). My skin has improved since using it with fewer acne outbreaks during your period. Even better, it can take the heat and sweat without smearing across your face. I will never go back to any liquid makeup...Bare Essentials can be found online, at Ulta or at Sephora.

I used to go for the real matte model paris hilton makeup-but I was with this great guy who doted over me all the time so I was always trying to have every hair even in place and looking into the mirror wondering what he saw or why he found it beautiful-I felt ugly and wanted to cover it up.
Now I wear none or a little. And--I think I'm happier this way. I dont smudge. I don't make other women uncomfortable. I dont look like a slut-well, maybe I do. But I just feel more me.
If I wear it--it is usually eye liner or of mascara. And I'm not sure why I do it. For a minute it was because I noticed a difference in the way people reacted (or I percieved) to me. I dont remember what direction. I work with all men and it seemed they were less limbido ridden when I had a bit of a mask on. Maybe the natural was too primal.
Then there is feeling a little safer behind a mask. _________________ "I'm sorry Katya, my dear, but where we come from, your what's known as a pet; a not quite human novelty. It's why we brought you.... It's nothing to be ashamed of, my dear, but here you are and here you'll sit." |

I don't wear makeup because it irritates my skin till I get a rash and it is painful and this is with the "hypoallergenic" variety. I have very sensitive skin, have difficulty finding non-irritating lotions and cleaners even. I always had trouble matching my skin tone and had trouble with using eyeliner because of unsteady hands. I used to wear makeup for special occasions until my ex hurt my feelings by saying I had the foundation color all wrong. My mom never wore makeup so its not like I had anyone to learn from. Now I use clear lip balm and occasionally concealer over pimples.
After I learned what all is in makeup like toxic chemicals and bat guano it turned me against it. A girl I work with wears the Bare Essentials and she looks good in it. Wonder if its really safe? I was gonna say natural, but bat droppings are natural too.
It seems to me makeup wearing differs by region of the country. I notice a higher percentage of females of all ages wear makeup in the South and New England whereas here in Arizona I probably know 5 women out of 100 at work that wear makeup. |

I don't like putting on makeup because it's so damn time consuming, especially because my motor skills are so bad. I also am not crazy about how it feels. However I always wear makeup and I even do the hairdryer/eyelash curler thing, which is the most time consuming. I do this because it's been shown time and again that people get judged by their looks and I need every grading advantage I can get. _________________ "Common sense is the collection of prejudices acquired by age eighteen." Hey, I have a rather strange question about makeup. I haven't read the rules for this forum... is it okay for me to post even though I'm a man? :-/
But anyway, as long as this post gets to stay, the question is this:
Does it count using tooth paste on your teeth and hair conditioner in your hair? Aren't those cosmetic enhancements for the looks (I mean, admit to yourself that you brush your teeth partly because you want to have a Colgate smile)? In that case, I wear makeup almost every day.
I am being 80-85% serious here. |

| When women say cosmetics they mean makeup & nailpolish. Toothpaste doesn't count. Why you are suppose to brush your teeth is to remove plaque and food particles so that your teeth don't rot out. Its not about having a Colgate smile. Though fresh smelling breath is nice. |

| I don't wear make up. One: Not my thing. Two: I don't want pimples on my face Three: I don't like the feel of it but only wore it when I went to dances. I loved them just for the music. |

I developed an aversion to makeup after my teens were over. I will put some on sometimes for a special event, but not like I did from about 14-16. I was desperate to try to be accepted socially and thought I needed to look like the cheerleader-Barbie-doll type girls in the family I lived with at the time. Then I thought they and their friends would be nice to me. I was trying to make my nose smaller and my lips thinner, and getting my hair chopped off in ugly hair cuts. Didn't work.
I'm glad that now it's accepted to look "ethnic" or unusual.
And those snobs I mentioned are still shallow snobs to this day. |

| I love make-up and always have, even when I was little. I love powders and lotions with shimmer (not glitter) and lip gloss for me is a must. My favorite store is Sephora and I'm always in there. I just think I look so much better with make-up. I don't overdo it like Tammy Faye or anything, but I always have mascara, blush, and lipgloss. Sometimes eyeshadow and liner. I also am into perfume. I even collect the mini bottles. I just love stuff that smells good. People are always asking me what I'm wearing because I smell so good. I just love that. It only takes me about 5 minutes to put it on. I think it's just personal preferance. I don't drink, smoke or do drugs, but I'm addicted to makeup. If there's a new product I'll go get it and, even though I should, I don't care how much it is. |
