Is it strange that im an Aspie, yet I share the most in common with Pinkie Pie. I tend to be highly talkative, though I make constant social faux pas and lack the empathy to be able to tell when people dislike me?
Dude, Pinkie has zero cognitive empathy. Pinkie would be an aspie that could only exist in a world as tolerant as Ponyville.
OK, so its not strange that I like Pinkie Pie so much. She gave me an aspie vibe but most sterotype all Aspies as being super quiet.I was suprised when I got Pinkie on the pony personality test even though my freinds thought it was obvious.
New fan here, thanks to Netflix! I have three kids, too, so I get company watching it. My husband seems boggled by our enjoyment of it, but it's flippin' hilarious. How can you not like this:

The end of my school semester is getting closer, and in my English class we have been assigned our last research paper. The professor said we could write about anything we wanted (as long as he approved it).
So guess what I decided to research and write about? My Little Pony of course!
I'm starting my research, but I could use some information from fellow MLP-FiM fans. If anybody is willing, could you answer some questions for me, such as:
How did you get into the show?
Why do you like the show?
Do you identify yourself as part of the brony community?
What do you think about said community?
And any other information you think is relevant.
If anyone feels like sharing your answers with me, I would be very grateful. You can just PM me. It would help me in my research.
Thanks! _________________ Gaming since 1996.

A friend of mine linked me an episode a few months back. I watched it, and promptly ignored the show for a few months. Then, he talked me in to watching the two part pilot. I proceeded to marathon both seasons in three days.
Do you identify yourself as part of the brony community?
Most definitely.
What do you think about said community?
It's amazing. How many other fandoms take a background character with joke-eyes and give her an entire family, epic amounts of fan art, and make her the most heart warming thing a person could ever see? How many other fandoms routinely write AMAZING stories and songs purely out of love for the show? How many others fandoms make John De Lancie wonder why nobody warned him about them before he signed on to the show? _________________ A shot gun blast into the face of deceit

After seeing Rainbow Dash in a signature on a forum, I happened upon a few clips of it on Youtube over several months... an AMV about Rainbow Dash that piqued my curiosity about the show, and some fan videos of "Doctor Whooves" that made me really want to see it. Finally my kids found it on Netflix.
Why do you like the show?
It's one of those shows... the supposed kid shows that manage to give the audience a little credit for knowing a few things, so as to use the time they save preaching to add jokes. The characters have their little lessons, but they're also allowed to be imperfect, such as Rainbow Dash playing pranks and receiving no more deep or touching lesson than a swift lightning bolt to teach her manners.
Do you identify yourself as part of the brony community?
I dunno what that is, really... I thought bronies were boy ponies.
What do you think about said community?
All I really know is that there are adult or older fans and they call themselves that.
And any other information you think is relevant.
It's a funny show. That's about it. I'd find it funny anyway, it has some of the usual plots but there's always a twist. My kids and I still giggle about the crazy pony escaping from the hospital and running around barking. Yet I was surprised to find that it delivers some pretty shrewd messages, and they come through that much better because they're coming to my kids from characters that aren't so perfect that they can't relate to them at all. My kids are pretty rough around the edges, and cutesy characters would just make them ralph. Just today I noticed that they had an episode that showed what a fine line there is between being assertive and being a jerk.
That's all. _________________ "Pack up my head, I'm goin' to Paris!" - P.W.

I'll answer these for my enjoyment. If you want to use them, go ahead - they're your questions, after all.

A friend of mine told me My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic was actually very good, so I watched an episode. Then I watched the next, and I was up-to-date before the second season started.

It has a good sense of humour. It's well-drawn. For a children's television show, the characters are surprisingly well-developed. The show has a lot of interesting themes and details.

Buck yeah.

It's a high-risk game to try to identify people you know as bronies. People I've identified as bronies, though, are usually very friendly.

Need season 3. I'd like a new Luna episode, and one about Derpy.
You're quite welcome. Anything else you need to know or need more detail on? _________________ A shot gun blast into the face of deceit

Some of my uncles showed it to me, then I played Story of the Blanks when it was featured on Jayisgames the same day. Gradually my interest in the show grew until I actually started to watch it, then a few episodes in I fell in love with it.

Mainly the characters, Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie are very aspergian in their own ways, making them easy to relate to, and they are also very cute and lovable. They animation is also beautiful, it has funny jokes, and a decent plot.

Yes.

I think it's nice and friendly, but we can be rather annoying at times.

All right, I've been working on my paper. First, I made an outline and broke it down into six paragraphs:
1. Intro
2. History of the show
3. Appeal - part 1
4. Appeal - part 2
5. Appeal - part 3
6. Conclusion
So far I've written the first three paragraphs. Currently it's come out to about six pages, 12-point font, double-spaced. _________________ Gaming since 1996.

Does each appeal paragraph focus on a specific aspect? If so, what are they? _________________ Cinnamon and sugary
