Who else thinks that this game is a must-play for JRPG lovers? I mean, Chrono Trigger has everything a JRPG fan could want. The battle system is one of the best battle systems ever, the soundtrack rocks, and there are 13 different endings (which creates great replay value). Plus there's the epic story and unforgettable characters.

I absolutely agree. Brilliant game in so many ways. Wish I could say the same about Chrono Cross, but oh well. >_<

Yeah, you're right about Chrono Cross. It just doesn't have the magic that Chrono Trigger does. I'm not saying that Chrono Cross is a bad game by any means, but it's nowhere near as great as its predecessor is.

Yup, I love it! I almost feel like I don't really need to play Chrono Cross... It's such a good game... Definitely one of the few RPGs that almost doesn't really need a sequel because it already feels complete.

I feel really sad I haven't played this game yet. You can buy it on the Wii Virtual Console now so I
guess I'll do that sometime.

It came out on Virtual Console two Mondays ago. I've already bought it on Virtual Console. I've also got it on the SNES, PS1, and DS.

Yes, do yourself a favor and buy it on Virtual Console. The game is well worth 800 Wii Points, and you'll probably love the game beginning to end. Plus, using the Classic Controller gives the game that classic SNES feel, so that's another reason to get it on Virtual Console. Here's a link to a review of the Virtual Console version of Chrono Trigger:

One of my favorites. I played this a lot as a kid. Took the time to max out every characters attributes by doing new game+ and grabbing every tab I knew about. Also took the time to get 3 characters to 99! I've played through it multiple times since then.

The multiple ending thing, I used to think was neat, but now it only bugs me. Alternate endings don't clarify the actual story, the real ending of the game. I wouldn't mind them so much if they at least let you know which one actually happened.

I love the enigmatic character Magus. And Lavos is one of the best villains ever.

i love Chrono Trigger, it's really fun and it;s just the right length. It has well developed characters and a great story. Certainly one of the best JRPGs ever. All the new stuff can die in a fire compared to it.
