I can remember being fascinated with the Enchanted Tiki Room at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom when I was a child---the lights dimmed and through the windows into the magical scenery was a thunderstorm along with volcanic eruptions. Wow---that was cool. I found it so cozy to watch that simulation.
As I became a teenager I got interested in collecting house plans. There was one plan I loved---a Spanish hacienda that encircled a swimming pool and lush landscaping. Just a few years ago I got the blueprints for it. If I ever became fortunate enough to build it, I would enclose that area with a sunroof and make it an environmental simulation area. It could simulate storms, etc.---just like the Enchanted Tiki Room. With all the numerous windows in the house looking out into this area, it would be so cool to simulate various weather events like storms. _________________ "My journey has just begun."

People, this will scare the crap out of you. I wish i was there
Lightning is weird when it strikes that close. It sounds less like lightning and more like a bomb going off.
Like this one I got standing in the doorway to my balcony. Fast forward to the 8 minute mark. Ieeee! Yikes!
If only I'd gotten the actual bolt in the frame. There were two others at least as close that I didn't record because I ran inside after the first. I have no idea where they actually hit. Surprised because in the past when it's hit that close I've always been able to find evidence nearby in the form of a bark-stripped tree or destroyed transformer.

I love them. I just don't want to be out in them is all. Sure the chances of getting struck by lightning is less than winning the lottery but I am afraid of rolling that dice. I even found out you can still get struck by lightning indoors.
I was scared of them when I was young. Mostly the loud thunder.
I love thunderstorms now! _________________ “Standing on the fringes of life... offers a unique perspective. But there comes a time to see what it looks like from the dance floor.”

I like thunderstorms. In the East of the UK we don't seem to get any thunderstorms any more. _________________ Real gender: Female

I've been traumatized ever since almost getting struck by lightning. I was running to get inside during a storm when lightning struck right next to me. I saw a white flash and my whole body went numb for a few seconds. It felt like everything was in slow motion.
Love them.....but I like when they are not very close to the place I am, since when they're close, thunders tend to be rather loud.....and my ears do not like that. I also definitely love lightning, I once even experienced a lightning that strucked ground about 100 meters from me (I was in the car, so it was not that dangerous).
I love them! But we didn't have them very often here. But I love it when we do! Both the thunder and the rain. When it's warm enough I go for walks in the rain. It's great! And it's fun to see all the people with their umbrellas who hates the rain, and those who are running to get home as dry as possible. I want more rain!

I love them it is the sever ones that I do not like esspecially the ones Ive experienced when I lived in Houston Texas for 3 years lightning striking the ground like every 5 seconds and watching a tree get struck right across the street. In my bedroom My bed was next to a big window with a tree next to it whenever it got bad I went into my closet to sleep until the storm blew over. My stepdad would pick on me because of that. _________________ Your Aspie score is 193 of 200

You are very likely an aspie
No matter where I go I will always be a Gaijin even at home. Like Anime? http://www.anime44.com/anime-list
I hate thunderstorms. The noise and flashing doesn't bother me too much, it's that I'm actually afraid of getting struck by lighting. My bedside is right next to a large second floor window, and it seems so easy for a bolt of lightning to travel through that thin pane of glass while I'm in bed at night.

Hi
I live where we do not have thunder storms - I can remember only two storms in my entire life that had any lightening ground strikes - and one was on the afternoon of my high school graduation more than 40 years ago.
I can also remember when visiting an uncle in the States at about age 8 and standing on his porch being absolutely enthralled with the spectacle of a full on thunder storm. _________________ Found in an old and dusty book --- Roger's Axiom: If it is worth doing it is worth over doing!
I -loooooovvveeeee- thunderstorms, but we very very rarely get them where I live . I like the sound of the deep thunder, the heavy rain, the smell, the strange tint to the light, the feel of the air, etc.
I'm never as alive as I am during a storm. I focus on them intently. Scared to death at times, yeah. But ALIVE. _________________ MBTI: INFP
