So I'm just going to say Hi, trying to ignore any reservations.

Hi.
It has been hitherto difficult for me to get a diagnosis, because I was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy affecting my left side at 9 months of age.
So many learning and social deficits I've had have been attributed to CP by my parents; e.g I was too shy to make friends because I felt was physically different. In reality I rarely even think about my left side.
In fact a diagnosis of CP was rather a convenience because I could get more time to complete tasks, even when those tasks only needed me to use my right hand. It was just because I was cognitively slower and I had trouble understanding written and verbalised sentences, and writing sentences that made sense.
This issue was discounted by others because I love to read books and have a decent vocabulary.
..................
I will stop myself. My point is: Here I am.
It's more of a relief than anything to give this a name.
I can get the help I need and get on with things.

So Hi.

I'm interested in human behaviour/psychology
Epidemiology
And human anatomy/physiology, esp. genetics.
Oh I love genetics.

I'm new.

There's quite a few QLDers here, around the Gold coast I think.

Have you been lurking long?

Are you studying or working or not working or what? I mean how do you pass the time?

No I haven't been lurking long, which I would usually do. I tried to just jump in straight away this time.

I study full time at uni, all of the subjects happen to be on only two days of the week. The rest of the time I mostly read and play the piano.
It doesn't seem like much but it's very time consuming.

Though I'm going for a job interview tomorrow morning actually and I'm freaking out a little actually.

Donkey:
I like how everything is close together in Europe.
Have you been to Scotland or know anything about that?
You will return to QLD in a year when they win State of Origin?

What do you do then to pass the time then?

europe is compact and full of history, but i am cultured out right now having spent 10 days looking around the Baltic countries on a large boat.
Scotland is close to me but i admit i have only been there 2 or 3 times and dont know it too well.
i will return to QLD in 10 years, i have a 10 year plan. but this is your post, tell me/us what your studying at uni?
which uni?

to pass the time i spend time with my wife/son family as a first príority, career development and post grad study is my second priority, and to uderstand myself better and how AS improves me, my life and career is a close third priority.

What do I do?

Well I made the mistake of buying a rundown dump on 16 neglected acres earlier this year, so there's work everywhere you look.

Apart from that I have two dogs I have to wait on hand and foot.

Hi PPParabola welcome, you could say I have many labels as well as aspergers that inter act and overlap, no one seems to really know, but what I have found with acceptance and understand comes true identity.

Good luck with the job interview, and remember you can only be yourself. I always hated interviews myself, but as I got older and wiser have found the interviewees are usually just as nervous Wink
