I am terribly ashamed to admit that I do read and occaisionally stoop to writing fanfiction. It's a terribly addictive thing.

I generally stick to Harry Potter fanfiction.

I have no idea what on earth lemons and limes are in regard to fan fiction, I know them as frighteningly sour fruits.

When I am bored or procrastinating, I like to read fanfictions involving Ayanami Rei. Nothing of a sexual nature, though, that bothers and disgusts me. I don't mind romance, though.

I am also involved in writing a multi-author Evangelion/Harry Potter fanfiction (though it's mainly Evangelion in a Potter universe, and is the third in a trilogy of Eva fics). Each writer took on a character to write, so it was a bit like roleplaying, with a narrator. I play Ayanami Rei, of course Smile .

When I have nothing else to do, I read South Park fanfiction and slashfiction. Some of the stuff people write is pretty good. I also get good laughs off some of it.

I usually save the slashfiction for the 10AM hour while sitting in school. Thinking about it puts a little light into the lame 10AM hour in school. I really have to control my laughing during that hour because it is just plain funny. I got thrown out of class twice for laughing out loud and not being able to control it.

You can see how people would get that idea from the films though- Sam is always 'making eyes' at Frodo. Laughing

OK, I admit I read some of it.

One of the best ones I've read was really alternative history about the Beatles - what if they'd never got their big break? Paul ended up teaching high school somewhere in England (not in Liverpool), John died violently when young, I don't remember what happened to George and Ringo remained in Liverpool working as a hair stylist, barely literate.

I've read some 'Star Trek' Spock-and-Nurse Chapel fanfic just because I've got a thing for Chapel.

But in reading that genre I've seen how badly wrong it can go (and why porn has the literary reputation it does). It seems a lot of the Spock/Chapel fanfic is romance-novel stuff by middle-aged women.

A pithy description I came up with of bad fanfic is 'make-believe TV characters having sex, written by people who don't'.

I'm not into slash.

Go to Mugglenet.com.They have a ton of HP fanfiction. I remember seeing a really wierd romance one a/b Harry & Cho... Something a/b Cho being a "Guardian of the Phoenix", with the usual things a/b her & Harry. I'll leave it to you to read.

Archmage

P.S. The story in question is not quite finished, but more chapters have been promised.

I don't really like fanfiction. Most of the stuff I've read (and that's not very much) is pretty bad.

For a period of about 5 years or so, I wrote Warner Brothers fan-fiction, specifically relating to the Spielberg cartoons ("Animaniacs!", "Pinky And The Brain", and so forth). I and a contingent of other writers engaged in chain-link fan-fiction. We didn't get into romance or homosexuality or anything. We just wrote stories with obscure pop-culture references, lots of explosions, and enough cross-overs and cameos to violate copyright laws from here to Hong Kong.

Those were good times and they're much missed. It's all anime now.

Sincerely,

John "idomyownthing" Kilduff

I can't stand fanfic with sex in it at all - in my mind that's for the bedroom, not for reading. Yes, highly conservative values are a big thing with me Smile

Well, I did write a "Full House" one with it implied, but only talking about the premarital sex of one of D.J.'s friends that is alreadys how canon (the girl, Kathy Santoni, had a baby shower D.J. was going to in one episode.)

Otherwise, just good, clean, wholesome stuff, some of it funny, , some very funny, some sad, but not much. http://www.fanfiction.net/u/5456/ That's my list of stories. Full HOuse, Coswby Show, HOgan's Heroes, Star Trek, Shakespeare (Hamlet/Lion King crossover), and more! Enjoy!

I read Jane Austen fanfiction fairly often. Some of it is great, some is awful, but most is somewhere in the middle. I totally agree with BigSnoopy on the sexual fanfic. I have written a few Austen fanfics, never put any up online, though!! I also hate the ones that change the characters too much, and the ones that aren't period.

Are these stories, by any chance, showcased on ToonZone.Net?

Can't write for toffee but will read anything. It's my all time favourite thing about the internet. Don't care whether it's gen/het/slash just as long as it's well written. Is your Harry Potter posted to Restricted section . org ? It's a really good Harry Potter site?
