It has been said there are 2 types of people in the world. Those that like dogs and those that like cats.
Are you a cat person? That would explain some things. - lol _________________ I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in.

Cat person, but not in a poofy way.
Unfortunately, I'm not even sure if I'll ever have a cat again.
I recently got one from the AWL shelter, but it was only just out of being a kitten, and it drove me and my mum mental. I decided (with a very heavy heart) to take her back. I was really torn up about it, and the fact that I had just come off the old antidepressants didn't help.
I had owned a cat beforehand, a beautiful old girl called Wimpy, whom I looked after after the owners couldn't take her with them. She was 13 when I got her. Last year, she started to die...
I had to get tablets for her kidneys....
Then, one afternoon, she was chased by a dog.
Her tendon snapped.
My dad took her to the vet. I couldn't go. Partly because a new episode of Doctor Who was on (I needed all the cheering up I could get), but also, I just couldn't stand to watch her die....
I left it up to the vet to deal with her body. I just couldn't associate myself with her any more.....
She was 18 or 19..... _________________ I'm more of a "good for Dave" kinda guy. And feeding people to dragons is good for Dave. |

I'm a cat person. But losing a pet is worrying for both cat and dog people just the same. Plus I don't see why my liking cats means I have to hate dogs. I quite like dogs, it's just that I like cats more. My ex-girlfriend's family have a Black Lab / Springer Spaniel cross called Bertie and he's great. I know they'd be really worried if he went missing, and I would be worried too.
I am very glad that TM1 has found his dogs. _________________ The Sociable Hermit says:

He should be a great quail and partridge dog for close cover. Do they shoot over him? lol
We have 3 cats in our house, all ginger/orange. The first one we got as a kitten from the animal shelter after our first pet cat died, aged 18. These are the only cats in the world I have liked - lol - The next cat was adopted by #2 son and the third cat appeared on our door step and adopted us.
Our dogs and cats all get on well with each other. But our dogs seem to think cats outside the family are "fair game". _________________ I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in.

Yeah I'm 51% dog person and 49% cat person. I got both.
4 Small inside dogs (all old) , inside cat, outside cats, 3 big outside dogs.
Yeah its hard when pets grow old and die. But thats pretty much the nature of life. |

Oh, how wonderful!
As for me, I'm a dog person all the way. I'll try to make friends with a cat every once in a while, but they seem to have an inexplicable grudge against me. I just understand dogs better, and they generally like me.
Chows are a neat breed. They aren't like hounds at all, at least not in my experience. Very dignified, not especially high-energy, and not given to playing much. I don't think I'd ever want one, though. I like Dobies, Anatolian Shepherds, and terriers more than anything. _________________ cogito, ergo sum.

It's awesome that you found your dogs good to hear they are home and safe.
I'm a cat and a dog person. I have two cats but would love a dog, we might be getting one after christmas. _________________ Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes, that way when they get angry you are a mile away and they have no shoes. |
