hiya kazzabeth
welcome to our club
i've been licensed since i was 19 or so. i got mine 3 years after my "peers" in high school, after i graduated. the state DSHS paid for my driver's ed. my parents couldn't tolerate being in the car with me behind the wheel, it wrecked their nerves. to be fair, i'd feel the same way- i could not be a driver's ed instructor for anybody else. i would look like one of those cartoon characters who stuck their finger in a wall socket, with steam coming out of my ears, bug-eyes, frizzled hair and that thousand-yard stare. IMHO, driver's ed instructors truly have nerves of steel.
anyways, i've had a series of used jalopies and utilitarian vehicles over the decades, never anything fancy, just point a-to-b transportation. i've test-driven [for fun] cars that i wished i could afford to own [caddies, mercedes, etc.] but never owned such. i've always lusted for cars that had a magic carpet-style ride over rough roads, that were library-quiet and cushy, with superb sound systems and other creature comforts, like a living room on wheels. maybe in the next life. |

| I've had a license for more than a decade, but at the moment I don't have a car. Can't afford the upkeep and insurance expense. |

I grew up in my mom's parts trucks as a kid. One of my original obsessions is cars... I got my drivers license just after my 16th birthday on my second try.
I have a car, a Mazda Miata, and I race that car too (against the clock, not wheel to wheel) probably one of the most NT things I do actually... its a social event, lots of stimuli and yet I enjoy that stimuli, and requires some physical skill... I am not the best, but its fun to do anyway. Makes me feel like I am outgoing and can be casually social because it surrounds one of my life-long special interests.
I love to drive, I avoid crowded roads whenever I can because stop and go traffic is overwhelming, but taking the long way to get somewhere typically means a better drive anyway so it works out! _________________ er um... w.. eh... y.. you cant hear me um like.................. stammer on the internet ha ha ha |

I've both a car and a licence. I had my licence since I was 19, and my car own car for close to two years. I wish wish my car insurance wasn't so high. _________________ " Tetris: The game that teaches you that mistakes pile up, and achievements disappear. " |

My dad gave me his old '97 Chevy Lumina. It needs new brakes and a few other tune ups.
I don't know how to drive, though. I didn't need to know in the city, but now that I'm out here in the country, I plan on learning this late spring and early summer. _________________ I'm a crab in a lobster world. |

Yes I have my license and a car, but my car needs work done and did not pass inspection.
I can't drive it at the moment
It's hard to have a car and license and know all you can do in the meantime is look at both lol. _________________ Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. |

Yep, license and cars.
I have a 1984 Supra, with a blown motor, and a 1985 Buick LeSabre station wagon with a blown trans. Also have a 1986 Civic I gotta get a title for. Cars is one of my special interests, I do lots of car mechanical work, and actually really enjoy driving recreationally. My NVLD makes driving, especially driving under pressure hard, but if there's no pressure and no other cars on a nice backroad, life is perfect in that moment. License I got in my first try, probably just by the grace of God, really, I should have failed it, I did terrible, but the guy passed me anyway. Right now, since all my cars are inoperable, I have to drive my mom's 1997 Galant, which isn't a bad car, but it's not a Supra.
Here's pics of my 2 cars I got now, besides my Civic.
I'd like to eventually get into auto racing, but I don't know if things will pan out that way. Cars are sweet, though. _________________ Too kawaii to live...
