Well that is the human way Crying or Very sad , I saw on the footpath recently a pigeon who was on it's last gasp of life and people just walked past without a care, I felt kinda terrible I ended it's life with a brick to it's head, though I can be forgiven I suppose I had one taken to my head to (well motorbike actually) so wasn't in a stable state , not that it would have made a difference I am doubtful it would have made it to the vets anyways.

Their are enough people who care for the cute dogie woggie or get on the " safe the whale" bandawagon, so I prefer to root for the underdog,

Not sure if that's an aspie thing?

Go pigeon!

Your all right you don't like winks would a smile be ok Smile if you feel you must eat meat at least eat high up the food chain (like whale ) being serious here.

I'll tell you what you get really creative when you stop eating animal products , allways making new recipes in my head, doesn't allways work out sadly made a coconut "chessecake " with a pandan topping recently, the base was made up of ground up nuts, sadly it was a watery mess the filling didn't set why did the agar not work ? (veg gelatine)

I'll have to do a google it , it must work as the asians use it in desserts to set stuff.

Looked really asian (ie) with that green topping I love asian desserts their so much "fun" with all those crazy colours and textures Very Happy

I've never understood why people find newborn babies cute. They look like shriveled up old people.

I'd say it's definitely not an aspie trait. I adore babies. I have spent my entire adult life teaching parenting and child development as well as operating a daycare. Myy daughter adores children (also Aspie) and she has a beautiful 4 year old who thinks anything "baby" (this can mean things that are miniature) is the most wonderful thing ever.

I was purposefully avoiding this thread but it has gone on for 10 pages now. What is it with the "do you think *insert random thought here* is an aspie trait?" kind of questions? I don't get it.

I personally do not find babies cute. Even when I had my own. Interesting, but not cute. Toddlers and pre-school age are cute. But not babies. There. My opinion, which is as valid as anyone else's and just as worthless.

I think it's definitely an Aspie trait. I find babies interesting in a psychological sense but if you put me in front of a newborn infant I feel extremely uncomfortable, especially holding one. My profession is an ECE so I'm used to older babies and toddlers but I still feel a bit uncomfortable around tiny, newborn infants. I especially don't like holding them, I think it has something to do with not knowing how to show my emotions as well as being afraid that I'll hurt it because of how small they are. Mind you, being an ECE has definitely helped me open up more around younger children.

Babies really weird me out when they're younger than around 1 1/2 or 2. They start to get interesting when their personality starts to come out.

I've always found babies, infants and toddlers repulsive; and not just because of the dirty diaper aspect. Even when I was a child I felt this way. If I saw a picture of a baby with food still on their mouth or if my mom was babysitting and I saw food on the baby's mouth, I would feel physicaly sick. I never wanted to hold people's babies but I was often forced to becuase they needed a picture for the photo album. I eventualy started telling people that I would just drop it and they would back off. I never wanted to play with dolls, espicaly baby dolls. I was breifly intrested in Barbie for a while, but only for her furniture and pets. I had no idea how I was supposed to play with Barbie. I made up my mind when I was four years old that I never wanted to get married, let alone have children. I always found snakes, lizards, insects and other invertebrates a billion times cuter than human children. People are always telling me how cute they think my bearded dragon is, but I wonder if they really mean it.

They're alright sometimes. I just don't know how to interact with them at all.

An Early Childhood Educator, so basically a daycare worker or a preschool teacher.

I think it's probably just a personality thing. Some people like babies and some just don't. I will be honest, I really don't like many children below the age of 12 because I get annoyed easily. I am able to be around them for short periods of time as long as there is no screaming or crying. I guess it's a good thing I decided a long time ago not to be father, ever! Laughing

I don't think it is an ASD trait at all. Some people like babies, others don't. People on or off the spectrum can fall into either category. I think all animal babies (including humans) tend to be adorable on average!
