You are not pathetic. I'm 17 years old, going to college in the fall, and I've never had a boyfriend. I went on one date last year and that was it. I choose not to be worried about dating anymore because I don't want to waste time thinking about something that will never happen. It seems like a lot of aspies have the same issue of late/not dating.

There is nothing pathetic about it. If you haven't found the right one yet then there is nothing you can do to change that. It's no reason to feel bad.

Indeed not. Count yourself lucky; most NT's I know have thrown away their virginity, their first kiss, and their first date on a person they end up breaking up with a month later by the time they're fifteen. I'm nineteen, still a virgin, have never kissed a boy, and never had a boyfriend (there was an awkward pseudo-something or other that sort of resembled dating for about two weeks, but we never went on an official date. Going to the zoo together for a school project was as close as we got. He held my hand as we walked through the bird exhibit and all I could think was "I hate people touching me!") So, long story short, don't compare yourself to NT's, and don't worry about dating, it'll happen when it happens.

Why is not having a girlfriend or boyfriend considered pathetic?

You are not.
