I've got some guys I work with who listen to Rover's Morning Glory regularly, I'll have to see what they say on this one.
Deiter's a bit of a meathead, so him saying something like “You should get one of your friends to screw your daughter straight” doesn't sound too shocking from him - ie. he's paid to be the opinionated dumb jock of the show.
The only question though; do they have a recording or transcript of this? I want to hear where this crossed the line from 'You should get her laid by a guy' to 'She should be raped'. |

Context apparently doesn't matter anymore, I imagine many of the people in this thread would be right there with the cops that arrested Lenny Bruce. Not that I'm equating some shitty shock-jock with a stand-up comedy great.
I'd also be pissed at myself and not able to sleep if I was to avoid pointing out that advocating that someone who advocated that someone be raped be raped does not put you at a moral high-ground. |

| They actually do this in South Africa. It's called corrective rape and is usually part of a gang rape. I watched a documentary on it. Obviously it doesnt work, it's just another excuse to rape people. |

The same thing could be said about the Republican party. The more asinine the utterances of a Republican presidential candidate, the bigger the campaign contributions. At least that was my impression of the 2012 GOP primary. I'm a bit surprised that none of the candidates thought of "rape 'em straight". Santorum's "rape pregnancy is a gift from god" already came pretty close to this level of wrongness. |
