I am curious on how many Aspies are in a relationship with a younger/older partner?

I remember reading a post by a certain user he was dating a girl 8 yrs younger than him.

I know most aspies usually get along with people who are younger or older than them.

Feel free to explain how well your relationship is going if you are described in said post.

If I could I'd date someone older in the (unrealistic) hopes that she'd be less shallow and more mature.

I've been out with girls up to 10 years younger. My last relationship was with a 28 year old. I'm 37.

My S.O. is older. We're just at the same stage of life and have adult responsibilities a lot of guys my age aren't capable of handling. Plus, I've always gone for brains without ego and that's a hard mix to find in undergrad.

My wife is two years younger, so id say about the same age. However my brother, cousin and grand father all were with women a decade older and I suspect all of them are aspies like me.

My boyfriend is 7 years older than me, I am 26 and he is 33. All the people I've dated in the past have been older than I am, usually by 5-10 years. It wasn't a conscious decision to date people older than me, it has just worked out that way.

The age range of my ex's has been from 4 years younger than me to 8 years older than me. I found it much easier to get along with the guy 8 years my senior than the guy 4 years younger. But, they had very different personalities and backgrounds, so it's really like comparing apples to oranges.

I think most Neurotypicals would consider us aspies dating some younger/older
a bit estranged but it's not really that big of a deal, people probably at least before the 1920's went out with younger partner.

Going off topic a bit, I have a wierd habit of attracting younger persons to me though but i think most of us aspie give off the "adult" vibe.

anyways, talk about your relationships with younger/older partners, How sucessful were they were.

Always younger and always shorter XD

Did have a thing for a little while with someone older, felt like having another sister tho.

As for how they went I'd say pretty well, I'm all up for the long haul with my last one lasting for 2 years and the one before 2 and a half.
I have a tendency of having horrible moments of depression when everything is going well tho and destroying it all... I'll learn one day

I tend to go after girls who are younger than me.. usually about 3-4 years but sometimes as much as 5-6 years.. I'm not interested in anyone under the age of 21. On the other hand, 30 is my upper limit. I'm closer in age to the 30 year olds than the 21 year olds, but in terms of my maturity level I'm closer to the 23-24 age bracket and thats really where I feel most comfortable..

This is mainly because, lifestyle wise, and responsibility wise, I'm not ready to be in a relationship with some one who has already met more of lifes benchmarks than I have and that I won't meet for some time.

My boyfriend is 5 years younger than me - but I usually go for older men.

I completely rejected my boyfriend at first as he was so young and I didn't think he'd be willing to commit to a relationship, certainly not to the sort of commitment I needed. There was big attraction so initially he just started out as someone for me to 'play' with, but as time went on he pushed for a relationship which showed to me he was willing to commit and I eventually agreed to start a relationship with him.

Turns out I had been approaching men wrong all these years. I'm a classic 'daddy's girl' so I seek older men - I prefer men much older than me but I often ended-up with men just a few years older than myself, I'd go for such men thinking they'd be more willing to commit where as in my experience many older men are single for a reason such as a fear of commitment and they see younger women as a bit of fun.

The fact that most that most other males will not commit saddens me but to view a woman as an entertainment commodity, My heart aches in sorrow. It is the right of every woman to be have a gentle farewell filled with a passionate kindness, Leaving a wonderous kiss instead of entrenching scar that shatters. A sweet memory to pave a new future after it.

I kind of believe in commiting without marriage,It is a true test of fidelity and passion to remain faithful without the bondage of religion.

I clicked "near my age" since that's who I'd PREFER to be dating, but I ment to click "single." Serves me right for not reading the whole poll.

Anyways, been single all my life, never had sex, never been kissed, never been on a date, never held hands with a girl, never even asked a girl out for a cup of coffee. So in short, I'm the oldest "relationship rookie" you can think of.
