| You're delusional. There are some unwritten rules in life you just don't see. |

hahaha clearly i am not, because i am surrounded by people who don't hate on fat people, and i have never once suffered socially for being overweight, even when i was obese. if you choose to hang out with people who are mean and judgemental, then.... you will experience that from them. _________________ on a break, so if you need assistance please contact another moderator from this list:

I don't choose to hang out with those I don't choose to hang out with. I don't know why you're latching onto that.
You're being a bit mental. Carry on. |

because you said several times that your friends gave you a hard time when you were fat. my friends would never do something like that to a person. so your friends reinforce your negative expectations, and mine reinforce positive ones. plus strangers, coworkers, family members etc didn't treat me badly when i was morbidly obese. i wonder what kind of social situations you were in where you could possibly have suffered for it. perhaps you saw what you wanted to see. _________________ on a break, so if you need assistance please contact another moderator from this list:

| Really? You've been insinuating I'm somehow unhappy because I don't share your viewpoint while criticising my friends for not being slackers, then you cop-out into some bullshit stance about me putting people down. Well done, I'm sure. |

... and back to topic - I was a slim teenager and I've always been relatively fit. I've always loved to dance and I can walk for hours on end. I'm a little overweight just now, heavier than I've ever been, but my BMI suggests I'm obese. There's a photo of me on here. If you see it, you'll agree that I don't look obese. I don't even appear all that overweight and my clothing size is smaller than average. Most of my life, I've fallen into the overweight category, whilst never looking like I needed to lose any weight and sometimes looking like I needed to gain a few pounds. The reason for this is that I'm a mesomorph and muscle builds up without much effort (although I don't look much like a body builder, I think I could manage that body shape easier than most ). I know I'm fit because I'm doing Zumba several times a week and I'm less out of breath and moving much more than any of the other ladies, except the teacher. Although I'm the heaviest I've ever been and some of that is excess fat, I'm fitter than ever. _________________ "We act as though comfort and luxury were the chief requirements of life, when all we need to make us really happy is something to be enthusiatic about." BMI information on its own is useless, a body fat percentage assessment is much more meaningful.
I judge my level of fitness on how long it takes me to recover after fairly intense physical exertion. While I'm sure Zumba's fun, I'd suggest if anyone really wants to test their fitness they should try an advanced spin class. During my first class I actually had to leave to throw up. |
