I have always been someone who eats salt, plain, just for the salty tast. but lately I seem to want salt more than ever. I'm actually eating a lot of salt. I think it's bad. But why would I be doing that? Why would I want to eat salt all the time?

You must be getting addicted to it or something. Don't eat the salt all the time, as it dries out your digestive system, or so I've heard, and which makes it less affective, and can cause a dry feeling for your insides. So try to stop doing it so often. I, personally, stick to just salting my food and wiping the salt off the plate with my fingers and licking it off them.

I once let my dog eat all the remaining salt in a bag of pretzels.

Yes, I did have to clean up the vomit.

The thing to be cautious in regards to too much salt is an imbalance of sodium in your body. In order to adjust to eating more salt, one must also drink more water. Conversely, if someone drinks too much water and doesn't eat enough salt, it can also be bad. I'm not quite sure what this imbalance can do to people, but it'd probably be pretty easy to find out if you really want to know.

(Really random, but when I read the title, my first thought was that ST episode from TOS first season where there was this shape-shifting creature that needed a lot of salt to live and it tried to grab the salt shaker from Janice...)

I have a bit of an affinity for salt, as well. However, I do regulate it so I don't harm myself. Smile

Nervous system faliure is the result of salt loss, too much salit weakens the muscles making hernias and internal bleeding more prone to happening.

Cheese !!! Love it, but I know it's the salt content I'm after. It's more salt than milk.

I used to be like that with cheese. Lancashire, cheddar, Cheshire, red Leicester... I loved cheese. I had it all the time - too much, if truth be told. I had to cut it out though as it was becoming a problem. Now I am on cottage cheese only. Smile
