Yes, I hate the way I look in videos and I absolutely hate the sound of my recorded voice. HATE it. I sometimes plug my ears when I hear my own voice.

Yes, I found out that I am incredibly fidgety and make weird faces. No wonder I got made fun of constantly. I hate hearing my voice as well, it sounds odd. I actually used to watch home videos of myself constantly as a little kid, but something changed. I'm not sure what though.

I fidget a lot more than I realize. Even when I remember being entirely at ease during the actual event, I always look really uncomfortable and awkward when I see myself later.

It's mixed for me. I often find my movements on video to be strange, or I will often see things like me rocking or doing some sort of body motion repetitively that I didn't realize I did when the video was being made. Luckily, when I'm playing music these movements aren't really out of place, although I'm pretty much always moving when I'm playing music. My movements are definitely more exaggerated than the average musician's, but it's still not as out of place as it is when I'm rocking or something like that in public normally.

One other interesting thing - I usually dislike my talking voice, but unlike most singers I know, I actually love hearing recordings of myself singing.

Yes, I was pleasantly susprised. The other day my brother caught me walking down the street to my house on his phone out of the window, and at first I said, ''why are you recording that young girl coming along?'' Then when it got a bit closer I was like, ''that's me!'' I thought I walked more noticably different to that (judging by the way people always stare at me funny), but on this video I hardly recognised myself until I saw my own face. I thought I was just another girl walking along. _________________ Real gender: Female

I didn't see myself on film until I was 18 and I was shocked. I realised that I was much more fidgety than I had realised, constantly touching my face and hair. I was also surprised about how inexpressive my face is when I am speaking. I haven't seen myself on film since then, and nor would I wish to.

the only video recordings of me that i know of are of me as a toddler; but watching those indeed show how shockingly autistic i acted back then, and they show how far i've come in hiding/"fixing" that behaviour

Ditto for most of these responses. For me it was
a) horrible monotone voice
b) I look so miserable on camera, despite feeling the strain in my cheek muscles of trying to smile. |

I have lots of home videos and audio tapes of me over the years, and more recently youtube videos. I don't like my voice it's too slurred and mumbly but it's not something that really bothers me, I like making youtube videos. _________________ The butterfly, the tiger, just another shadow in the stone

I remember being video taped in college during mock interviews. I was amazed how much I talked with my hands, I was always looking out the corners of my eyes-just like a certain someone that I look up to and that's when I found out that I speak with a Cockney accent-despite the fact that I grew up in Canada and none of my other original family members speak with an accent. _________________ The darling, unworldly Mick Avory with hands like shovels, who wouldn't dare choose to hurt a soul: I'm the cuddly, adorable Kink.
