Why do footballers get paid so much just for kicking a football around a field? Confused

A good question.I like football myself but the amounts that top players get paid are way
too much. I think it's related to the world becoming obsessed with 'celebrities' and everyone goes out of their way to put celebrities on a pedestal and pander to them.

It's worth remembering that it's only top players who get paid so much, the rest are
probably on similar wages to other professions. Also, sports people in general have to retire
in their 30s and look for other jobs.

Because it's a British tradition. Well, it is for me. I'll leave North American Grid Iron to my dad. He can have it, all to himself.
