I was overweight for most of my life until last year. I lost between 30 and 40 pounds (I didn't have the nerve to get on the scale at my heaviest) which makes quite the difference on someone short like me.

The picture I posted of myself in the pics thread where I am standing outside is my "after" pic.

I don't follow a strict diet anymore, but I try to get at least one fruit serving in per day, and I don't eat out all that often.

i'm normal... i only weigh a bit more than i look cuz of muscle from all these sports. i'm like 130 something and i'm 5'3"... can't stand diets. i used to think i was fat (and furthermore i'd freak out over this false fact) but now i realize i'm fine so i just try to stay healthy and not eat too much, go running every day, you know... the usual.

the thing is, people can't believe i wear a size 7/9 pants - what is up with that?

If you're referring to junior sizes, I can believe it. I'm about the same height/weight as you and wear a similar size in juniors pants.

k good... it's kind of annoying when everyone has this standard to fit into a size 3 pants. I've gotten so many, "you're not a size 9! you've GOT to be a size 3 or 5!" comments. Everyone apparently needs to look like they're a size 3 too. Isn't this stupid? it doesn't matter what size people wear as long as they're comfortable with it... i don't want to be a size 3

I'm on Zyprexa. About 3/4 of the people who go on it go off it within 18 months because of weight gain. I'm not one of the "lucky ones." I wnet on it at 13 and ballooned up, reached an obese weight. At 15 I decdied I had to stop, and went on wieght watchers. I haven't been obese since, but whenever I go off the diet, I gain like crazy, so I'm on this for life. I am currently under 120 lbsa dn am 5'2". When I was about 14 I was an inch shorter and nearly 180. Weight Watchers are great; they are behavior modification.

I used to be really skinny, buy my bmi has always been normal because I'm short. I remember at age 10, I weighed 40 lbs (18 kg) and I was 3'8" tall. At age 12 years 10 months, there was not much difference (4'4" and 55 lbs.) But at that time my parents put me on risperdal, and I weighed 100 lbs by December and was 4'7". I have lost weight since then, and know I am happily 83 lbs (37 kg) and 4' 11" 3/4. My BMI is about 16, which is not underweight, because I am 14 years and 6 months old.

Same height, but weigh twice as much...looking at me, you can't tell where all that weight is. I have fat covering all my muscles I guess. My job has given me lots of strength over time, so I've gotten failry muscular. But my fat still hasn't gone away. Confused

Same height but currently between 260-265... I looked pretty good at 220 as well as I'm heavy built - I wish I was still that weight. Rolling Eyes I really do need to get rid of some but exercise sucks, and I don't have time to go running or money to lift weights in a gym... and I like my food too much. Anyone got any spare motivation they aren't using? Embarassed

I have fought the Battle of the Bulge my whole life, and right now, I am losing. I have tried a lot of different diets--most recently Atkins, and they have not worked. Right now, I don't have time to exercise. One question I have--has the gluten-free/casein-free diet helped anybody in keeping weight down?

crap you're tall... i'm like 3 inches shorter and 20 lbs heavier! at work people still tell me i'm skinny though, which i find sort of odd... maybe it's the distracting outfits? haha

i also checked my body fat percent which is like 32% (women apparently should be 18-25%) and im worried im too much as it is (add the freshman 15 in 2 years and it'll be a problem) so my mom is concerned that i'm concerned and wants to take me to weight watchers to work on portion control so i'll be set for life and not have to worry much longer. good idea?
