| ...I don't know that he literally took his life , altho , obviously , he led a rather unhealthy lifestyle...( As do I - I , obviously(??) , have rather less options in front of me...) In my 40s , I was pop-culture aware when he was still alive , so perhaps I approach him differently as a pop cultur figure... |

It was show biz that killed him , burning him out 
Also , his manager didn't really care too much for his health , it was mostly about the $$$ for Col Parker (can't believe he took 50% of his earnings....E should've sacked him & sued him !!) 
Yeah , his diet wasn't healthy & then there was pills for getting up & pills for falling to sleep....endless cycle (he also refused to call prescription pills for drugs , drugs in his opinion was the street variant)
He should NEVER have been on stage post-1972ish ! |
