with less requirements..for disorder...

THAT IS ALL..

BUT HERE'S THE THING..

A reciprocal social communication disorder as described in both DSMIV and NOW5..can be caused by an almost infinite number of causal factors..MUCH OF IT CULTURAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL..AS STUDIES NOW SHOW...PERHAPS OVER 50 PERCENT IN TOTAL AFFECT AND EFFECT PER WHAT IS DESCRIBED AS AUTISM IN THE US....
as to why one does not make friends..peer appropriately
does not share interests with others..and take interest in the interests of others...

And is a little freaked out by environmental stimuli as it is a well known fact..knowN by science that chronic stress..
will interrupt the stress response..and CAN make sensory stimuli overwhelming to anyone in the general population..ENDURING CHRONIC STRESS...OVER AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME...

AND IT IS ALSO KNOWN..THAT LACK OF LOVE IN CHILDHOOD PER THE REAL PROCESS OF NEUROPLASTICITY...

WILL CAUSE THE LOVE CONNECTIONS NOT TO BE MADE IN THE MINDS AND 'HEARTS' OF CHILDREN..
TO LOVE OTHERS WITH FULL COGNITIVE AND AFFECTIVE EMPATHY AS SUCH....

AND OF COURSE IT'S ONLY COMMON SENSE...

LIVE A LIFE OF NON MOVEMENT..IN COMPUTERS..VIDEO GAMES..AND ANY TYPE OF MECHANICAL OVER SOCIAL COGNITION ACTIVITY...

AND A PERSON WILL LOSE IT INSTEAD OF USING IT AND HAVING OR GAINING IT...

[It just makes me think that society, and people are failing me. No matter how hard I try.

and that is why I am planning an Autistic intentional community. It won't be what every Autistic person wants, but it will be for many. Some of us are just so tired of trying and trying and still feeling so alone. Some of us FANTASIZE about being part of a tribe. Really. Some of us care so deeply for others but only get used. Some of us are afraid to dream big dreams anymore, but with support, we can not only dream but achieve great things.

I know quite a few "vampire" Autistics who sleep during the day and are alert at night. With that in mind,we were thinking about being open at nights..people dropping their cars off at night and picking them up in the morning. If i'm there, I'll be greeting them with scrambled eggs, sweet rolls and coffee. [ I just thought of the breakfast part...had to add it to my notes.] We've had wi-fi for years, which,not that long ago was a draw. [now everyone has it] We are also trying to think of finding a way to bring in the light rail customers who use the parking area [ it just opened up]

Okay Hogaday. I have late stage breast cancer. I am dying. Bobby has stage 3 heart failure. He's dying too. I have so many kids and grand kids that I love. Youngest son has neurological pain [ it had slowed down but is back real bad again] that the docs say is the 'most excruciating pain humanly possible" People I thought were friends were not. I have no money and am too sick to work. I am not trying the same thing over and over again and expecting it to be different. I am trying to set things up so that my son [ and others] can have a hope of an okay life. That's all.

It WAS insane for me to just try to be good enough, sweet enough, smart enough, responsible enough, everything enough for nearly 60 years and expect a positive outcome from NTs'. That WAS insane. Now, I'm trying something different. If you don't like the idea of what I am racing against time to do,fine. What possible purpose though for you to rip apart my last hope! That is so mean!

And it's not just me! And if peoples ideas are not ripped apart, they are ignored. Look at Ken G. He posts about so many things that are to benefit other Autistics. Some of them cost money. some of them are far away. Some of them are FREE and anyone can access them. but they are ignored. I guess playing the autism card, hate-wars,and expressing the depth of a persons intellect is so much more important.

So many people have quit WP because of the meanness, and because of the seeming lack of concern as far as supporting and building each other up as autistics. about a month ago, there was a thread pretty much devoted to what a b###h I am, and i stilldo not have a clue what I did wrong.

I am having such a hard time, the hardest time of my life. And I feel so alone. And someone shouts at me that trying to find somewhere my kid might fit in is the worst idea EVER.r

I'm sorry, and good luck. Of course you are referring to me. I am not trying to be mean, it just comes out that way. I didn't try to rip anything away from you either. It's mine. Life is a fightful dream.

I know one thing is for sure. There are things that trigger my behavior, and most of it comes from reacting from other people. Like bullying, abuse, and condescending attitudes. Sarcasm is not funny at all when it is condescending. A daily battery of that stuff really screws my head up. He has a point about the antisocial behavior too. It is clearly obvious in pet dogs. Most of the time I have gotten by with being o.k., and people believe I am generally normal. However, I have had some bad meltdowns, and that whole sensory issue thing is very prevalent. I hide it very well. The meltdowns I cannot. With a tweak here, and a tweak there, alot of us may get by o.k. we all need to figure out how to do that. I had a meltdown a year ago. It was very bad. Probably the worst I have had. I lost my job. Most of it was the people. Sadly enough, it makes me afraid of doing it again, and it is pushing me away. That is the opposite of what should be done if the world, and my head was right. I believe I understand him. Not all, but for some of us, if you loose the triggers, everything seems o.k.. I grew up around a heck of alot of people, and all of that has really helped with social issues. The automotive industry has a heck of alot of social structure too. Any autistic who belongs to a service type industry is alot better off socially. I see his point. The little brain scans, quizzes, manuals, and pie charts, paint a different picture

My contribution here is this--in an autistic community, no guilt tripping;-) but we learn that kind of pattern and then do not even realize we are doing it, or at least I did not realize I was doing it until I finally just saw it....and was really shocked, even sickened....that pattern I learned in my family.... So the first goal I think is to be conscious....and also stick to practicalities.... do not confuse doing with pretending...but pretending can be fun....it is play...and of course imagination plays into real doing...and pretending can also a way of trying things out....

I think it should be the aim of any human being who is going to try to make any kind of community for the well being of others, be it an autistic community or a neurodiverse community or any kind of community, to not fall into a nihilistic state but to try to stay goal focused and impartial, so be detached but with love.
Secondly, I suggest not to confuse pretending with reality, so if I want to make a real house, I do not confuse that with making a pretend house, and if I want to make a pretend house, I understand it is play. A lot of smart people tend to poke fun at utopian communities because these kind of endeavors are perceived as overly idealistic and most likely to fail. Personally I thought some of the fun poking was quite delightful and not really mean....

To Vicky, so sorry you are suffering and having great struggles in your life right now, but I would not let this kind of thing get to you....I am thinking of opening my home to people and having some kind of activities here, but for me it is why just autistic people? Many people are alienated...so many people are suffering...and we should all come together and try to help each other out. There is this saying I really like---God helps those who help themselves. If I do help myself by helping other people, then I have to stay in the right frame of mind to be able to do that, so in this sense I am helping both other people and also myself. That is the middle way.
