Hello, I'm new here. I'm a 22 years old and female. I wasn't officially diagnosed with Aspergers but a lot of people suspect I might have it and I can relate to people on the spectrum better than neurotypical people. I joined this site to be able to relate with other people and make some friends as I have no friends in real life and it's a constant struggle always feeling different and something seems off all the time. So I have been feeling very alone. My life isn't going anywhere at the moment. I think I'm still 10 or 12 years old in the body of a 22 year old and things are expected of me since I'm an adult and it is just too much to handle. I have trouble talking about things feels for me all the time so it just builds up until I can't take it anymore and then I feel even more terrible. I have never had a job, never had friends outside of internet and my family. And right now I just want to be able to not feel so alone all the time and tired of feeling different and misunderstood.

Hello there. Welcome to WP.

If you have a skype or something, I'd be more than happy to chat with you some time. I know what it's like to feel completely isolated...

I could relate with that, sometimes - well, to be honest, it happens quite often- I behave childishly, but from my standpoint I don't use to consider it as a sizeable issue - of course there are a lot of factors that we should consider to weigh how much behave childishly could be seen as an "humongous" trouble for you, such as how much control you could exercise on your childish thoughts, how much value you give to the opinions that come from the people around you etc.-
anyway I suggest you to have a look to what the existentialist philosophy means with authenticity

Welcome! :)
I also often feel alone in real life because I have no friends and no one seems to understand me.
And like you I sometimes feel that there is too much people expect from me just because I am an adult now. It´s really difficult to handle.
What are you interested in or what are your hobbies?

Welcome, I was in a similar situation when I was in my early twenties. I don't feel 10 though. I feel like I'm 17 still hah.

As a young adult I always felt like a child still, my other friends would chat to our friends parents just small talk and joking around like they were our age but I could never do it.

I'm 33 now and feel it emotionally TBH, I think it just takes us longer to reach adulthood

It helps to know were not alone, but it does feel like it in the real world. Right now I have been very down and unmotivated to do anything I used to enjoy. However I like to take walks by myself a lot. Take like 3 walks a day. I love dachshunds(aka wiener dogs) because I adopted a mini dachshund from the shelter last year and I love him to pieces he is the only one ever there for me at times. So now I'm obsessed with everything dachshund. I also like to sculp things out of modeling clay, I'm no artist or anything just something I like to do. I like dolls and dressing them and stuff. I like to play games on the computer at times I don't have a dozen that I play but I like to play sims sometimes. There are other things I used to enjoy but now I don't enjoy stuff like I used to.

I am similar to what you have described in many ways, but I have been lucky enough to have jobs essentially handed to me by life's circumstances. I am very lucky to have a job right now.

Like you, I tend to act very immature. As an example, one of the things that I do is I act like my life is out of my control. There are certain things that are of course far beyond my control, but there are other things that I could change if I got off my lazy butt and did something about it.

I am currently in therapy and am hoping that working with my therapist can help me to get motivated to finally make some positive changes in my life.

I also like it to take walks by myself. I live at the end of a small town and the field is very near to our house. I often went there because there aren´t many people, just a few who walk with their dogs through the field. I don´t own a pet myself but my neighbour´s cat often comes to my house. I like him very much. He helps me to relax and I feel better when he is here.
I had this time when I was unmotivated to do things I usually enjoyed, too. It was really sad because I had nothing to do and just sat at home and waited that the time went on. But fortunately it is better now, I really enjoy to read and to take walks again.
