We're HUMANS of course! It's what we are and we should be proud. Humans always want to feel bad about themselves. They always feel unworthy. Why not just accept being human and happy with it?
I'm not getting why admitting that we are animals is akin to feeling bad about ourselves. I think animals are quite wondrous and beautiful.
Because we aren't animal-like. If we were I would agree but I just can't because I have seen too many examples of being human.
Well, we are human. And humans are animals. Various species behave differently, though we may judge that particular behaviours are rooted in certain commonalities. So it goes for humans. Human behaviour may or may not find analogues with other species - whilst I think human behaviour is best dealt with and understood on a human level, that doesn't mean there can't be interesting or useful comparisons to other species.
