So we're acknowledging that Obama is up to some pretty nefarious sh*t now? Well, baby steps I suppose.

I have acknowledged that the spying scandals are a travesty already in the past. But Palin has made it clear she has no problem with the use of torture, which not only has Obama condemned, but also Palin's former running mate, McCain. Had McCain croaked while in office, as many of her supporters had been drooling for, we could have expected a return to the worst abuses of the Bush administration.

Yeah, cause it would have really sucked if she'd done what she did in Alaska on a national scale, i.e. reached across the aisle and cleaned up a bunch of long running cronyism, couldn't have that...

The memory of the Sarah Palin who had reached across the aisle back in Alaska had been swallowed whole and forgotten by the divisive tea bagging Palin, who has since then been a fixture on the political far right.

Obama also condemned executive overreach and secrecy; how did that work out?

So, in your mind, words are more powerful than actions?

If you call executive orders "executive overreach," well, that's been unavoidable as the congressional Republicans have chosen not to get anything done in order to make Obama's presidency fail (along with the whole country, by default), and so the President has to take matters into his own hands to make the wheels of government turn.
And as a matter of fact, words are a pretty good indicator of action, especially when playing to a particular base, as Palin has been doing ever since.

I can't say the same about how liberals feel about their beloved hero, Barry O.

There is a world of difference between an educated, intelligent man like the President, and a practicing redneck dullard like Palin. Did you know that Palin believes a valley full of recently dead dinosaur bones had been found in Alaska, but believes scientists are suppressing news of it?!?!

Like I've said 2 or 3 times now, I have better things to occupy my mind with so I don't care one way or another. She's had her moment in the sun but there's not much that can be done about the comparatively few that still think the sun rises and sets on her.
On second thought, maybe I will become a Palin fan since her mere public presence bothers you and your kind that much. That's worth at least something.

If she wasn't a focal point of right wing populist fanaticism, I certainly wouldn't care about her, either. But the Duck Dynasty crowd thinks she's the "Second Coming." That's why we liberals care enough to ridicule every idiocy uttered from her mouth.

most everyone down here and on fb seems to be part of the duck dynasty crowd. it happens to be the current hit show, for how long that lasts. none of them seem to be in favor of or know palin. quite a few liberals here like the show just as much as conservatives. I don't get it, though not really a fan of reality shows. I can have funny moments I guess. though I hardly go fandom for much of anything. I'll admit to watching sons of guns and moonshiners. perhaps my lack of wanting to wear show branded stuff and join forums etc, has to do with my disorder.

so its up to him to ignore the other two branch and run the nation solo. thereby undoing the base of our constitution o.O
those republicans are doing what their constitutes want. half the nation doesn't want what Obama wants. wether you like it or not its just how it is. he only got half of a half of the population to vote for him the nation is divided on most matters. this doesn't give him the right to just do as he wants. complaining that republicans did it then doing it makes him a big hypocrite

both parties are guilty of that and s**t if you ask me, both complain of abuse of power when either is in power then commits the same abuse when they are. the real heart of the matter is they just wish they were in power so they could do the abusing.

Sure, I agree Republican congressmen and senators should represent their constituents, even if that means having an adversarial relationship with the President. But the country as a whole expects congress to do their job, which means accomplishing something - preferably through negotiation, and give and take - rather than causing government to grind to a halt. And grinding government to a halt is exactly what the congressional Republicans have done, while the Supreme Court's conservative element is driven by ideology rather than a genuine interpretation of the law. And by the way, Obama has actually used executive action much less than either Bush Presidents, Clinton, or Reagan - but you wouldn't know that listening to the Republicans.

Must be a market for that crap there if they're marketing it. The only stores I've seen it in locally is Books-a-Million. It was your kind that brought Duck Dynasty to my attention last year with some griping about a homophobic comment by one of the cast. There was a Duck Dynasty marathon for a while after that and I did watch some. Nothing at all there to capture my interest, thoush, so I haven't watched a single episode then. Generally, I have little to no use for reality shows.

I wouldn't know or care what Fox is doing for or to Palin. I get most of my news off of a local provider's website or the TV. I'm honestly starting to think the biggest fans of Fox News ,Limbaugh, Hannity, and Beck to name a few are liberals. In real life and online they, not conservatives, are the ones that talk about them the most. Even as a hateful jackbooted conservative, I can always find better things to do with my time than to torture myself and wring my hands over things I can't change.

If you have a Walmart (and yes, I have little choice but to shop at where the Devil retails from time to time), then you'll see the Duck Dynasty sh*t everywhere. I doubt that the Spokane area is the only place that gets it.
And if you seriously think Fox is only kept alive by outraged liberals, then you truly are disconnected from "your kind."

I think the weirdest thing I've seen their faces on were house slippers complete with beards.

A great big middle of the aisle display just before this past Christmas.

^Maybe the beards on the slippers function as a dust mop. :D

I never look for it. I tend not to notice merchandise I'm not there for. I only actually noticed it at a few Books-a-millions stores.

Yes, but you assume everyone not living in a left coast state is into Duck Dynasty and Here Comes' Honey Boo Boo.

I call it like I see it. I also don't have the herd mentality when it comes to politics.

When the hell did I say everyone not on the "left coast" watches brain rot?
As for the Duck Dynasty crap at Walmart - I certainly don't look for it, either, but you can't get away from seeing it prominently displayed.
As for herd mentality in politics - that perfectly describes tea baggers who watch Fox. Just because I agree for the most part with the left doesn't mean I'm part of a herd - - it just means I think they're right.

Whatever.
If you don't want to buy Duck Dynasty junk then don't
If you don't like Fox news then don't watch it.
I see you tossed in the tea baggers in thier again. We should start taking bets on how many posts it'll take in any PPR thread for you to resort to that.
