Well yeah, the majority think that younger is more attractive. Hence why the popularity of skin lifts.
my guess is that it is an evolutionary leftover, having to do with perceived fecundity.

I don't really find those women posted all that attractive. I find them rather homely and plain, looks wise. They look quite average. I bet they have great talents though!
I agree, they lack the features like high cheekbones and defined faces like this. On that note, you guys going for less pretty girls doesn't mean they have better personalities so you might as well go for pretty women.
Believe it or not some of these guys ARE going for what they consider the 'pretty women'.
This is what 'unconventially attractive' is - finding women society considers 'awful looking' to be 'VERY attractive' to your own eyes.
I've had unconventional and strange attractions to women my whole life. I cannot stand the typical clear faced, clear skinned, skinny tall puffy lipped blonde types like in your picture. She looks fake and ugly, almost plastic even. The women the OP posted looks more realistic and down-to-earth.
I like brunette/black haired greek, italian, latina or mixed/biracial girls with light tan skin, curvy body, no breasts on her, tiny flat a$$, pimply face, etc.
I don't expect them to always have a better personality though. They almost always do however.
I think people that are considered 'attractive' by most of society really do act different. They can have higher self-esteem and be prouder of their looks.
All those women dressing revealing and showing off their looks with clean hair, perfume and heavy makeup are always skinny and have 'great bodies' by societies standards.
The woman you posted in your picture looks like a shallow, egotistical person to me. She looks like the type that would be judgmental and un-accepting or nerdier/skinnier or shyer/more awkward guys like some of us aspies. Her looks instantly draw me away as they look intimidating.
I guess it's bad I am judging a book by its cover though, but every woman I talk to who looks similar to this will give me the same treatment.

What a load of crap. You sound extremely bitter and immature. There are plenty of beautiful and NICE and caring women out there. I've met just as much pimply fat and less attractive women women with horrible personalities as I have met gorgeous women with great personalities. In fact, as I am getting older I am noticing that plenty of less attractive women can be very mean and hostile towards other women. Think about it. Women that KNOW they are attractive and take care of them self don't have to feel threatened by other women. That's what true confidence brings.
Not really, because when you work on your appearance to the point of being competitive to other women, this isn't really confident at all. It really is shallow and materialistic, thinking being the trendiest, most conventially attractive etc. is what makes you look the best.
It just means you need to outdo the rest to feel better about yourself and rasie your own little ego. Again, this goes back to egotistical.
True confidence is more related to self-esteem. If you can be okay with how you look when you look average, to me this is the most attractive thing ever.
Of course there can be awful personality unattractive women, so obviously a good personality has to go with pride in looking average/unvconventially attractive.
Really I guess I just want a girl/female who shares my own ideals. I am not too fed up with taking care of my appearance. I'm not a fat, lazy slob or anything.
I am a very thin boy with little muscle on his body, but I am in no way concerned about developing muscle mass like other boys and men. I play basketball, that's enough. I never cared about taking care of my teeth and would honestly not care if a female/girl had bad teeth either. I can somehow make my hair look perfectly fine even though I do not comb it, all I do is wash it, let it grow, cut it. And other stuff.
Basically, the majority of people, male female, family, friends etc. have said out of 10 I would be a 6, 6.5 or even in some cases a 7 out of 10 when it comes to looks, even though I do not obsess over my looks and only look how I want myself to look.
I imagine a female equivalent to myself would be most attractive to me. A girl who can look a 6.5 or 7 without even trying. A girl my age who looks HOW SHE WANTS TO LOOK and not HOW SOCIETY THINKS SHE SHOULD LOOK. Sadly I have never met one as of yet.
The 'pretty girls' who go above and beyond to look good spend countless time and money on fashion, gym, exercise, diet, makeup, perfume, etc.
All that effort to look like something of a plastic barbie doll and to discard the real you and your real appearance/values.
Anyone of any appearance can have any kind of personality, good or bad.
It is the truly amazing people who can have a good personality, and look average but still magically end up being one of the most best looking people ever.

Good to find someone who agrees with me.
This is what I am saying.
The ugly are ridiculed and bullied, forced to be pre-occupied with their own interests than have friends.
They often end up 'growing out of' their uglyness and become at least average looking, and by then they have developed a great and unique personality with all that time spent alone.
Beautiful people are assumed to ALWAYS have a great personality. This is a real scientific phenenone known as the 'beauty-is-good' effect.
People are naturally drawn to better looking people no matter what.
Beautiful people almost always turn out extroverted, confident, etc. but at the price of being very focused on their looks. Some are nice, other's just end up becoming awful people with unlikeable personalities.
Looks do matter to a society whether we deny it or not.

I think it matters more for women than for men. If you're a man, you can still be ugly and have lots of friends, something that's out of the question if you're an ugly woman (even with good social skills). On the flip side, it seems to be easier for attractive, yet socially awkward women to make friends than it is for attractive, yet socially awkward men.
