Do Rapists deserve the death penalty?

Read my post and you tell me if I'm saying that.

Problem about the death penalty is that it's society lowering itself to the same level has the criminals.
And besides Japan, Korea, India and the USA no other real democracy in the world uses capital punishment anymore, even countries like Russia have abolished it, Cuba hasn't carried an execution in a long time, and even some Muslim countries like Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco don't execute anymore.
And Europe has abolished such a barbaric punishment almost 4 decades ago (last execution in Europe was in 1977 in France by Guillotine)
And last time I check the crime rates are lower in Europe than they are in the US.
And the argument about the fact they keeping people in jail cost the taxpayers money, I answer, has a society we agree to pay a certain amount of taxes to keep these people locked up. Anyway, besides the 3 democracies I cited before, most countries who still have a death penalty are neither democracies, neither are they know for their human rights. And for me, America should be the example, the light of the world, the country of example, sadly killing people, even the worst of the worst is simply wrong.
Just my opinion.

I might sound like a dictator no different from Mao Zedong but if rapists are convicted they should be executed via firing squad and televising their deaths and announcing to all this is the consequence of rape!

Rapists are also I believe sick people with major mental issues (It' so easy to hire a sex worker, especially in my part of the world where it's legal, but also in America), rapist are people who simply enjoy the act of assaulting someone sexually and hurting them... They are just sick minds. So for me they should be punished and sent to jail, because they are fully conscious of what they did (if they weren't they wouldn't stand trial, like some who don't) so they need the sanction, and that is prison.
We Aspies are not different, sure, we don't rape, kill or do awful stuff, but if we did, if one of us did something like that, our condition will be taken in consideration in front of the courts. Same goes with rapists, they are sick and courts take in consideration.
Plus like I said before, killing is wrong, and executing them will never lower the rape rates, because rape is a sexual impulsion that is unstoppable, and executing them wouldn't be justice, it would just be revenge.
Other thing, some radical Feminists (especially in Northern Europe) consider that having sex with your wife when she's tired is rape, they consider paying for sex rape against the sex worker, and in some parts of the world if an 18 years old has sex with his 17 years old girlfriend is also considered rape (like in some US states).

Actually, we do, there was even an unfortunate incident involving a murderer who used this site some years back. Many of us can also lie and manipulate, and as this board in particular demonstrates, be complete idiots, morons, and as*holes, just like everyone else.

I would not want to be a part of a society that tortures anyone no matter what they did. I find that idea horrific.
As for killing sex offenders, the only time I think this is appropriate is for pedophiles with a history of recidivism.
