They're ok at propaganda, and that's their main tool to use for recruiting [the disgruntled kids of Arab immigrants]. Naturally, the news media are playing right into it and boosting IS into something they're not. Yeah, they're medieval trash, but that's evident.

Airstrikes won't stop them, but airstrikes won't stop anyone; they just hinder you so it makes it harder to use your Toyota as a weapon. You have to walk more.

Considering there's millions of Muslims in the world, their call for an Islamic State is doing pretty poorly so far.

we don't have much to fear from china yet it seems. they don't even think they could take Taiwan, instead considering blockade and taking the smaller surrounding islands. what they do have is a bunch of soldiers with no large scale way of transporting them to places outside of china.

ISIS will continue to THRIVE precisely because of the military assymetry. Innocent civillians will die because of NATO airstrikes and IS will use that to radicalise more people towards their cause.

Americans shouldn't make the mistake of confusing this as stupidity. They know what they're doing.

They won't thrive as much as they could if they weren't being bombed, but they only have to absorb our efforts, which will cost us billions, and it might be the straw that breaks our economic back.

I don't care what their IQ is, people who take the writings of ancient religious texts as literal "Truth"(TM) are imbeciles. My guess is people who join ISIS really don't think very deeply or question themselves, even if they're intelligent in terms of raw IQ. They just want to join a cause that gives them excitement and a sense of "fire in the belly". They want to feel part of something important and powerful, so they swallow the BS without really thinking too deeply about it.

I don't necessarilly think that 'taking over' America or China is their endgame. They may say it is, but what they say and what they intend are two different things.

They probably view this as more of a domino effect, taking over one muslim country one after the other. If you remember how large the islamic world is that gives them a lot of room for growth. If they take Pakistan, they will have the nuke already. However the American-Western strategy will only help them achieve such things. IS are not fighting the same kind of war as the west.
