Worship may be over-stating it a bit, but this is a thread about religion, so fair enough.

In the ancient Greek world they used to have statues of penises lining the streets - true story. I will get a cite.

Phallic processions, or Penis Parade,[1] called phallika in ancient Greece, were a common feature of Dionysiac celebrations; they were processions that advanced to a cult center, and were characterized by obscenities and verbal abuse.[2] The display of a fetishized phallus was a common feature.[3][4

Looks like a largely male crowd, there. I see a lot more of men worshiping penises than women, frankly - and I don't mean homosexuality.

The Arab traveler Ibn Fadlan had made mention of phallic worship among Swedish Vikings who had settled in what is today Russia, one of them telling him: "I worship what I know made me."

Lol

I suppose it is a celebration of our ability to procreate and carry on our species - our human existence or experience.

I do think that there is something to the idea of Lucifer (or the devil or Satan) as an introduction of evil to a benevolent creation. I've often thought that the apple or knowledge that he offers Eve is perhaps that of cultivation. Perhaps it is our tendency to alter things that is evil. We want to have dominion over our environment as some stories tell of Lucifer wanting to do in Heaven.
