At my school for the girls what it is in is labels like Hollister ,Abercrombie and Fitch, American Eagle Outfitters, etc. For the bottoms is pretty much short shorts, pants, capris, and miniskirts with or without leggings

I'll wear something that's in fashion, if I like it.
If I don't, I'm not going to wear it just because everyone else is.
That's the sheep option.

I wear things that never have been and never will be in fashion.
I just wear what I like and what I feel comfortable in.
I don't even care if I'm individual.
I'm not individual, I'm just like every other person who's like me.
I'm just being myself, regardless of how many other people do or do not do it.

I will never understand fashion, or it's followers.
I know people who will wear something totally disgusting just to "fit in".
Really, really silly.

I am not interested in fashion really but its not hard to be fashionable since all the shops seem to sell all the same kinds of things at the same time, so I expect that most of us are accidentally within the fashionable range. Not only do they sell the same shapes but similar colours too which is great if your favourite colour is there but intensely annoying if all you want to wear is a long sleeved plum coloured top and can't find one anywhere, its enough to make me growl.

I tend to get a fave item and wear it to death, so its hit and miss with me and I can't say I really care.

I wear the same 4 or 5 things all the time, but then they start fading from being washed every day.
I never know which colours are supposed to look right together either, all I can think of to go with any colour is black.
Do red and black pants match a grey/black/white shirt?

If you want them to then yes they do, don't forget that the NTs have decided for everyone what should go together and what shouldn't, doesn't mean they are right.

I match colours because the pattern has to be right, not so much to do with the actual colour, so I have to feel that the colours like each other.

I tend to stray from what alot of people are used to seeing.
I wear very tight stretch pants, mixed with my own handpainted shirts.
Bum flaps are amazing, aswell.

I think I find alot of the the whole punk fashion scene interesting.

[quote="analogue"]Why is that most people feel the need to dress exactly the same as everyone else?

Lately, I've been spending too much money on fashion because if I don't act like everyone else, at least I'll look like I belong.

Does it happen (or used to happen in the past) in your case that you don't have a sense of fashion (or however to call it) at all? I mean, until 18 I was completely unable to make distinction between clothes considered to be cool and those thought to be shoddy. Literally, all clothes looked the same for me. I was unable to judge whether something was fashionable or not, pretty or ugly.

no,I didn't have any sense of fashion and a few times this was motivation for bullies to pick on me. Then when I started to follow fashion rules I began to got more positive attention. However, some times I didn't have time to worry so much about the ''perfect outfit'' and would just wear jeans and a striped t-shirt. Most people continued to be friendly towards me; it was confidence I needed, not fashion Smile

I don't get why for some people it is so important to follow those funny fashion rules. For most girls of my group at school (well, for almost all of them) fashion seems to be undeniably one of the most important things all over the world. Once one of them said that her vision of happiness would be watching pink shoes on Allegro all day long Laughing But each one likes something else, if that girl likes activities of this kind it's not my business.
