Especially on the internet.
The majority of idiots I meet are on Gaia online - fancy that eh?! 
A few days ago I had a "heated debate" with some girl who was trying to tell me that the earth did not in fact spin on it's axis, and night and day are caused by the sun orbiting the earth. Sun round the earth, and all in 24 hours? Jeez, now that's magic! 
And last night some guy tried to tell me that it's impossible for girls to be colorblind. I didn't mind him so much - just plain ignorance rather than utterly stupid concocted theories lacking in evidence. So I took it easy on him, and merely blinded him with my biology.  |

Wot gets me upset is the repeating of Urban Legends over and over. Some people post so-called facts on their webpage, when the incident in question has actually been throughly debunked. Nobody checks their sources.

One of my tutors was telling us the other week about someone (someone famous apparently, I don't know who though) who thought that Winston Churchill was the first black president of the US.
Not someone I've met, but stupid none the less  |

Oh, I just remembered a good one.
There was this kid who created a site explaining a theory he had come up with that the US government had deliberately sunk the Titanic. I wasn't believing any of it but some of it was almost sensible, until I read this one:
"If there were so many rich, wealthy, important people on board, how come there is no video footage of the Titanic sinking?"
I don't know if this kid doesn't know it was in 1912 or what but...that made me laugh! |

I enjoy arguing them to the point where they can no longer think of a sensible reply, and start to invent facts.

The majority of Gaia members don't accept Wikipedia as a reputable source. More often than not it's an excellent source of information, I don't know what their problems are.
Some guy on Gaia tried to tell me that neither heat nor cold existed.
Also, I direct everyone's attention to Time Cube. I'd like to believe that the guy who created the Time Cube site is just joking, but I can't be sure. |
