Are there any women here who are going through menopause, and have had hormone therapy suggested by their doctor? Or anyone who has tried it with good results? I have been reading so much that my head swims. I have learned about dominant estrogens, found in household and beauty products, and have read about hormone creams that supposedly balance this. Now I'm confused because my practitioner is saying the creams are useless, and that I might want to consider the replacement therapy. I'd love some input.

I used the hormone patches and they worked really well. With the patch, the medicine doesn't need to be processed as much by your liver so it is theoretically less damaging. I stopped using them because I was gaining a lot of weight but I also wasn't menopausal yet. I won't hesitate to use replacement therapy again when I need to.
Almost all of my female relatives have gone on it and none of them have had a problem. They tried natural remedies and found nothing worked as well as the HRT.
Chuck would know whether this is true or not. He is a pharmacist. I can ask him if you would like. That is if you aren't comfortable asking him, of course. And I don't have to mention your name.
