Ok, iI have no one in my life right now, but I was curious about how many kids is a good idea. I've always thought that two kids would be ideal. My brother and I grew up together and were only two years apart and got along together great. I thought that if I had two kids, then if they did indeed get along well, then they could "entertain themselves" and I might be able to have more alone time. But when I'm around some friends who have two kids, I can't help but notice how much energy both parents put into making sure their little kids don't get in trouble while we're trying to play a game or do a bible study. With my difficulty in multitasking, I figured it would be very hard for me to keep an eye on two kids at the same time. It seems to me that having two kids would be very tough at first in the early years of their life, but as they got older, then the benefits of two kids that can play with each other would start to kick in. Any thoughts?

As a side note, someone has to do something about the "Adult Asperger Issues" topic. I almost posted this post in that topic until I did a quick double check before hitting submit. Could we change the title so that it isn't so similar to the "In-Depth Adult Life Discussions" board? Would it be possible to move it to the bottom of the "Age/Gender related discussions" section instead of at the top (that'd probably lead to people accidentally posting here when they meant to post there, oh well)? I keep accidentally entering that board when I mean to enter this one. I'll copy my concerns to the "WrongPlanet.net discussion" thread. |

There was a time when I had five kids around. The experience was totally unlike trying to multi task five jobs at work. It was more like having five fascinating obsessions going, obsessions you care deeply about, and shifting your attention from one to another.
It demanded a lot of focus and energy, and the subtlety involved makes poetry look like shoveling gravel into a truck, but there's a big difference between being worn out from something you love and being worn out from something you're doing because you have to.
Obviously, that was before butch the feminist decided to have typical feminist fun at the expense of me and my kids with the support of every feminist in the world.
Since then, my views of parenting have nothing to do with how my kids grow up, and there's nothing left in my life except going to work. _________________ I can't take up my rifle
