I think you better look up the meaning of carbs. Most starchy carbs are also full of fiber. Fiber has nothing to do with whether they are carbs or not. It's carb content that determines how they are classified.

Carbs from the Diabetes Association

And I did not say I was hypoglycemic.

Oh, for crying out loud...you little pedantic, you. Basically you and I are on the same diet. I have the same reaction to potatoes and rice that you have towards starchies. I feel all punky and useless and unfocused if I eat those things. I have to watch the amount of fruit.

It's hard to write and make sense when I eat potatoes or bread. Well, cheap bread. It's difficult to study. What's funny is that icecream has no where near the effect of starchy veggies and breads. My body doesn't like them, but I don't suffer as long. I think it's because it's a simple sugar. I do feel beat up after I eat sugar like cake or icecream, but at least I'm clear.

So weird. Just shows how much we each need to listen to what works for our very different bodies.

yeah..that's the problem that I sorta had the time I tried Slim Fast shakes...They would not satisfy my appetite...so although I didn't want another slim fast shake..I wanted a MEAL.

I have had an almost lifelong weight problem.

Something happened that made me go from a skinny little thing who was oblivious to food and would frequently forgt to eat...then my blood sugar would drop and I'd get dizzy(up to about the age of 7 or 8 )...To a food-obsessed extremely overweight kid...and being overweight while still growing gave me a stocky frame...(I think)

Now I am 31, and could stand to lose about 40 lbs....seriously...
A non-aspie trait I have is that I have ALWAYS had a serious appetite for all kinds of food.
i try to be careful as much as possible, but I gain weight really easily...(i also lose weight easily, but it is becoming more and more difficult)...If I deprive myself, then it ends up backfiring in bad ways, and I lack alot of self-control.
At the age of 14, I became a vegetarian and seemed to lose 30+ lbs overnight...so that I was actually almost the correct weight for my height.
Being a vegetarian helped me control my weight for the ten years that i was one, and at the age o 25 when I stopped being a vegetarian, I became overweight again....(despite the fact that I was riding my bike like crazy)...(though I was also working in the ice cream industry)

Now, I am an omnivore who does not eat meat all the time. I like alot of fish...only eat red meat when I am feeling particularly self-indulgent...etc...
I do have issues with being a goat cheese addict.
I have a big problem with wanting to eat at night, which is supposed to be a big no-no...but there is nothing Flakey likes better than bringing out a package of goat cheese and crackers right around midnight.
But I do try to avoid white flour and white rice and other stuff that makes me feel tired after i eat it....I eat several small meals a day and try my best to exercise, though I tend to get too busy to really regiment myself....
I also avoid sodas like the plague.
Anywoo..now I am rambling.....
My point was i have trouble controlling my appetite..and alot of that is just the mental impulse to eat..and "peer pressure"..and I need to figure out how to control these things, or else I am just gonna keep getting fatter.

All diet products are worthless, as are diets. If you really want to be thin or healthy, you can't just go on a temporary diet; you have to change your eating habits for life.

The easiest way to lose weight is to eat less calories and exercise more. Drink lots of water, eat fresh fruit and vegetables, switch from white breads to wheat, and avoid processed foods at all costs.

It sounds simple but it really works. I lost 35 pounds by doing this and I've kept it off for several years.

Dieting is USELESS without exercise, exercise is the most important factor in losing weight.
