Hi Annelise and hello people,

I'm from Melbourne as well. The most awesome city there is. I believe WA does have water, but you don't want to see the colour of it... the water situation in Melbourne isn't as bad as the government makes out. It's only when they count Thomson that it looks so bad. Thomson is mainly there for drought security. But still, don't waste water kiddies, that's just bad. Other than that our water is pristine, coming from catchment areas in the mountains that have been undisturbed by man for over a hundred years.

Oh and NZ, I took a trip there last year, awesome place! Very Happy

I beg to differ, I remember being able to taste the chlorine in the water in McDonald's post mix softdrinks in Geelong before. Same with Ballarat. Rolling Eyes

I only very rarely can taste the chlorine out of the tap at home.

Well we've stayed in Ocean Grove quite often (I'm pretty sure it's the same water supply as the rest of Geelong, but as well that I've had water from other parts of Geelong) and I've definitely noticed chlorine more than in Melbourne's water. But seriously it's probably negligible to international standards.

I only notice it in Melbourne's water late at night very occasionally. Probably something to do with the treatment cycles or something. It's not strong or anything but you can just kind of tell from the aroma that it's there. Ballarat's water is probably worst I've tasted in the state. It probably also depends on your luck though, if any of these places are low on water they probably have to resort to poorer quality.

As for Adelaide, a lot of their water comes from the Murray... I shudder to think what it'd taste like....

Anyway enough about water!

For starters, I'm not the only WA person on here. You must've forgotten to read the first page of this thread. There is also: Renaeden, Postperson, Alli, and myself. There is also another Western Australian but hasn't been on since last year sometime. I also met the mother of a family with 2 AS children and is likely AS herself, that has moved to WA recently. That would put us at 5, and you at 3. *tongue*
Hey Jeremy, what's wrong with the color of the water in WA? I agree though, Perth tapwater tastes horrible. Only rainwater for me. Did you get a chance to look at Perth, at night, from up in the hills? Spectacular. We are the city of light, y'know. I believe Berta said she had also been to Perth. How did she find it?
The differences are most compounded, because WA is largely viewed by the East as a boring state. International tourists, however, generally prefer the relative quietness of WA. 3 destinations in WA were voted among the top 10 destinations in Australia. Marble Bar was voted one of the lowest, cause of the stinking heat.

*grins* Is it the quietness... or the drugs? Laughing I'm still trying to get over the fact that the above three are all 21 years old! *grins* Oh, and I believe there are several other Melbournites on here somewhere... please show yourselves?

*Note: The abscence of further identifying Melbournites IS NOT conclusive evident that they don't exist! Razz

You sound like a fascinating person. You
will like it here, we are just like a family.
We laugh, talk and fight like a family.

I had 7 ear operations and an 8th to repair
a stab wound. I was deaf sometimes and
normal other times. This also complicated
my life and was used as the scapegoat by
my mother to explain my odd behavior.
She doesn't agree with the Asperger
syndrome diagnosis and still claims that
my on and off hearing loss was to blame
for my poor social abilites. My mother
used to have deaf kids board with our
family. It was a learning experience. I
used to know some sign language but
forget most of it now.

Hmmmmmmm? How old are you? When & Why
a ear operation(1st one)? You mentioned then
6 more. Why those six. I am just curious
since I was in a car accident at 2.? years old
and didn't have restored hearing until around
4 or 5? This is what my grandmother said
when I asked questions. I hear fine and
speak fine now, but 7? Wow! that's alot.
And why the stabbing of ear? Robbery
done to you??????? Hmmmmmmm?

Sincerely,
Ghosthunter

As a transplant from Sydney to WA, I'd have to say, I don't miss the cockroaches, and that probably (sure I saw some last time I was there) goes for Melbourne too.

it's like they've all been hiding behind the cupboards, all these Victorians, seeking out somewhere damp and dark
