like if yer in a resturant? i usually have my sisters order for me, i cant be arsed to order but i dont know why. i think im order shy 
of course i'll order if i go through the drive threw maybe its because im in a car,  |

| I can order things now, but I used to make my mum do it for me. I especially hate it when the meals are called things like "Mama's Chocolate Pancakes Just How She Used to Make Them When You Were a Little Kid" and then you have to say the entire title. |

I don't really like restaurants full stop and I also hate 'ordering' things in shops as well. I actually hate the term 'ordering' as well; it makes it sound as if you have a slave and you are forcing them to submit to your evil scheme to have them serve you with food. I hate buying stuff in shops the most, especially in the supermarket where you have to wait a while whilst you are bagging your groceries and they are tilling it up; they often try and make chit-chat and I find it a little awkward.

Me too. Someone rang the doorbell about a half an hour ago and they rang it just again a few minutes ago. I stayed really quiet and pretended not to be home. I'm scared of picking up the telephone too. |

Ordering is a little weird, but I can get used to it. It is always weird when restaurants assume you know options, like what soups or how do you want your eggs or steak... or what kind of bread do you want.
I also don't speak very loud, so people will not understand me and I'll have to resay things a lot. This is true at Chipotle's or Subway where I have to tell the person how to build my Burrito/Sub as they go.
But I eat at Chipotle's all the time so I have the process down.

How come you tried to order in French? Did you just think that steak hache sounded more appetising than minced beef or something?
I worked in that McDonalds a couple of times. I actually worked in a different store but sometimes when another store was short of staff, they would send some of us to go and help out. It was horrible at the Trafford Centre one; so chaotic and busy.

This is the thing that really annoys me; when people expect you to tell them things in their special language, like when you are at the train station and you just want a return ticket and they get in a strop and say 'what do you mean mean return, do you mean a super-saver return?' or in Starbucks when you ask for a white coffee and they get pissed off and say '*sigh* do you mean grande latte? with or without cinnamon, regular or low-fat milk,...'
It is the pure contempt and indignation they express, just because I don't know the bewildering array of opportunities available to me as a Starbucks patron that annoys me the most. They expect you to know their exact operating procedures and if you don't know them and the specific terms they use, they get real angry.
This happened to me in a pub the other week. I noticed that they were selling four-pint jugs of beer which seemed to work out to be the price of three pints so I asked the barmaid for one and she said 'Four-pint jug of Carling...what are you talking about? Do you mean a pitcher?'
As if by calling it a four-pint jug I was confusing her...
