NOPE! I AM the kid! The other guy was once my best friend! Believe it or not! He died in a car crash, and I broke my leg in the same crash. I didn't want to use a current avatar, because my tone, name, anecdotes are ENOUGH for anyone to figure out who I am. I don't want to remove any vestige of doubt. The picture is about 38 years old. If memory serves, I am a LITTLE younger than you, but not that much.

NO, Actually, I'm sure you and others here, DON'T know me. Some people HERE have seen pictures of me at 5, 17, and 28, and think they are pictures of different people! But HEY, I don't recognize people that well either. One more thing. If you work at a big company, I MIGHT just be there one day! I may have been, and may be NOW!

It's getting worse. Younger and younger girls are being encouraged to be like whores.

Let's be honest! ALL of society is disintegrating! Yeah, girls are being hurt, but boys are also. Heck, I saw a documentary about a woman that was supposedly very smart, did well in college, had several degrees, was in mensa, etc.... She went into the porn industry because she could make so much. Even the idea of the men that go into sports, become rich, etc... but never learn to do anything productive is bad.

And HEY, females DO have more choices in most societies than they had even 70 years ago.

Sinsboldly,

BTW As long as I am at it, I used to live In california, and have worked all the way from san diego to san jose. So you NEVER know WHERE I'll be! Wink

oh, goodness, I am so grateful to the Patriarchy for that blessing. Thank you for the opportunity to be not quite as stifled as we once were! I will try to be worthy of your leniency.

Honestly, I think it's gotten somewhat better. Women have choices now, whereas a long time ago, we did not. (Once upon a time, women were only good as maids and mothers. Careers were out of the question, and they able to be controlled without anyone thinking it was wrong. It was expected.) These days women can go work in almost all careers (pro football is out of the question, but that's beside the point). They don't have to get married, and they won't be considered a witch if they don't. They don't have to have children; there are reasons other than that to live, and most people - including men - realize and accept that.

Yes, there is still some sexism. Women are shown as sex objects throughout the media; Paris Hilton is (blah) considered to be a role model for some girls. There are jokes, resentment, and hostile comments/actions aimed at us. Despite the fact that there is more freedom, there is still a role women are expected to fill.

But by the same standards, there is sexism against men too. For as many jokes as there are about women, there are equal ones about men and their inability to think, follow directions, be more intelligent than a nail, whatever. And they're expected to fit a role too.

I don't think sexism will really ever go away entirely. People have different opinions, different looks on the world and themselves. There will always be at least one person who thinks that females are less than males, or males are less than females.

I think it's kind of a complex issue. Legally, sexism is better, as women can vote, they are allowed careers (though still not on the same level as most men). However, in other terms, its is just as bad or worse. Example- female circumcision is still around. Rape is very common in many countries. Women are being sexified at younger and younger ages (Bratz and thongs for 13 year olds come to mind). And many of the guys I know are on the verge of jeapordizing our friendship because they are so sexist. Sexism needs to be targeted at a less governmental level and more on a societal level. Until evryone can stand up for what they believe and unite against sexists, the problem will never be resolved. Hopefully, when society as a whole can confront the issue, sexism and the sick people who believe in it will be a thing of the past.

I think sexism is getting worse and in both subtle and overt ways. Being an intelligent woman is often still frowned upon in our society and it is the "bimbos" who seem to be the popular ones. Women can be very sexist though and even towards their own kind. Mad

yes, two words "Hillary Clinton" it is like a cult how some women detest her. I find it amusing.
