I told my mom and she seem upset that I told abot her and she accused me of doing it because I just feel sorry for myself and I can do this sort of thing online because I can make it one sided. Is is possible to delete the thread. I feel just AWFUL about pstong this and making my mother look so bad. Thanks so much for your concern and support though it makes me feel so much better that someone is out there for me.

Society needs black sheep, look at Lennon, Lydon, Gates, Jobs, and all those other odd balls. Use your frustration and disapointment and turn it into something constructive, I draw dystopic paintings using coloured pastels. Try the arts!

I do. But my mother critizes that to and says I need to go back to realistic felines instead of using a cartoon meerkat to represnt myself and she also complains about how those drawings are to "angry or "violent". It's like I'm not allowed to express myself or vent even in a construstive way.

Just think nonviolent protest: Keeps doing what you're doing. Draw the way you want. Study up on What you need to do to be a vet. I find success is the ultimate "f**k you!"

Don't let your family talk you down! You can do many different things with your mind. Not having 90% of your brain reserved for social crap frees up a lot of space... Smile Be(com)ing a vet doesn't require a lot of math (you'd have to get through just a few calculus classes), but you would have to do a lot of organic chemistry and a fair amount of biology. If you've never had any confrontation with organic chemistry yet, see if you can find a simple introductory book on it and see how it appeals to you (or not).

Such work may be necessary however.
I worked in maintainence (sp?) for a while,
both in and out of school. It's got some nice
advantages, such as being alone while you work.
Gives time to think. There are jobs which are
better, if you're going to be studying though,
like graveyard shifts in security.

Next time one of them says something like that, beat them into the ground. Nothing says, "Don't f***ing underestimate me!" like a good show of force. Trust me; people think you're capable of just about anything if you're capable of doing something like that.

If really that works how come when I had meltdowns so bad I injured my mother and beat up kids at school I got put in the physc ward and suspended and my parents started worring that I would just get up in jail or an institution?

The less they expect the more to prove for yourself, thus more satisfaction in the end.

My parents think I'll have another breakdown if I become employed agian. Do you know what I'm doing at this moment. I want to be a dishwasher, so I'm typing a list of local restauraunts that I'm planning to drop off resumes at. I'm allowed to make $500 a month without having to get it taken off my Disability cheques. Smile

Ignore your parents as much as possible & find yourself other people who support what you're interested in doing. Checking-into the types of texts you'd have to learn is a good idea. Call a couple of vet. offices, tell them you're interested in becoming one or working in the field somehow & ask if you can spend a day in their office. It's really good for seeing how well you'd like something in real life. If you truly aren't quite up to some of the math or science involved, there are plenty of fields working with animals where you could find yourself in a completely satisfying job with education that fits your personal strengths, anything from vet. assistant to working with animal rescue (wild or otherwise) organizations, to animal training or zoo work. There are lots of options. (I used to be a dog trainer & have met people in a lot of associated fields, from animal shelters to dog groomers to you name it)

Whoa, I thought all you wanted was to be a
doctor. Becoming a vet is almost impossible.

Well your brother sounds like a real jerk who has a bit of an ego, and your parents should try supporting you in your endeavors for a change, rather than telling you it simply isn't possible.
