Hi, this is my first time to this website. I just found out a short while ago that I had asperger's syndrome, so I wanted to do some research and I stumbled across here. I thought it might be a good idea to try joining in. (I really don't know much about communicating online, heh heh..)
Here's some background information: I'm an 18 year old university student and artist. I like to paint portraits with oil and watercolor paint, sculpt heads, draw comics and write stories. I try to be as polite as I can, but I have a very difficult time making friends. I have to concentrate really hard to talk casually with someone. I often feel stupid because I don't undertand jokes, or I can't tell whether someone is being sarcastic or if they're really saying what they think. I feel a lot like a dumb little kid. I KNOW I'm not stupid though, because I get high grades!
I also work too much on things that other people are not interested in. I like to write stories and draw pictures, and people get bored when they come to my house because that's all I want to do. I can't help it.. a lot of people only want to sit around and talk, but that seems like a mind-numbing waste of time to me. I like to do things that are CONSTRUCTIVE.
That's some information about me. I'd like to find out lots of information here and maybe try to find out how to communicate normally. Uh.. well, nice to meet you, whoever is reading this! |
