I do. In the last month I had 2 major ones. One was when I was in a crowd of 45,000 people at a baseball game. Since they were talking about me and my thoughts I suddenly started having a hard time breathing, felt like someone was choking me, tingling at my fingertips, and felt like I was going to faint. Today's experience was similar. Same symptoms. But this one happened for no reason at all. I used to have even worse ones 10 years ago that I actually thought I was dying. I would be rushed to the hospital to make sure that I wasn't. So if you have panic attacks, what are yours like? How do you deal with them? And is this common with autism?

I haven't had one in about a year and a half, but yes, I do get them from time to time. Since mine tend to happen at times when I am not stressed out at all, I never understood what they were. I interpreted them as being perhaps some form of heart disease, or maybe some sort of other horrible thing. It's good when you realise what they are.

I should also point out here that it's almost certain that they weren't talking about you at the ball park.

Instead of a "panic" attack, I get overwhelmed/overloaded, and sort of shut down. I am quiet and move slowly and it looks like I went suddenly numb. If I need to move out of a situation, I will, but it is not in a panicky way (although inside, I am technically panicking, but it comes out as slow...)

Thankfully no.
I do have anxiety problems but I dont get panic attacks.
I think I may have had one once, when I thought I was going to drown, but I'm not sure if there is a difference between extreme fear and a panic attack. Confused

I used to get them quite severely. Now they only come when I am under a lot of stress. My brother used to get to the point when he would have to call an ambulance, convinced that he couldn't breathe, and was dying.

I tend to see a difference there. Panic attacks don't make me shut down in that sense. Being in a shopping centre in December does. It's very different from the panic attacks. At least, for me it is. When my senses lead me to reboot, it's very different from a panic attack. During an attack, nothing shuts down. It just keeps going until it stops. It's much scarier.

I might be biased, in that I've had sensory overloads since I was a child, but the panic attacks only started around the age of 17 or 18.

A panic attack happens when you panic about having an anxiety attack. The trick is to learn how to stop yourself from panicking. Learning to recognize the first warning sign of the anxiety attack helps, because then you can start using diaphramatic breathing and reassuring self-talk to prevent it developing further. Increasing your overall fitness level, improving nutrition, getting enough sleep, and setting aside regular time for relaxation, can help reduce the frequency of anxiety attacks (and therefore panic attacks). There are lots of herbal remedies that can help too.

At the drop of a...something.

Whilst they're caused by the autism and OCD ("anxiety"), I was diagnosed with panic disorder a couple of years ago; I probably only have a couple a day now, I get them when in situations where I am around people, i.e., pretty much everywhere.

They don't phase me in the slightest anymore since I know what they are, too bad nothing can alleviate the trigger other than death. :/ (CBT can only do so much for my autistic brain.)

I used to get them so badly that I wound up hyperventilating. That was in my adolescent years. I'm 29 now, still with anxiety, but do not have panic attacks anymore.

I do when my cats escape. I keep them indoors and panic when they go out the door. I don't want anything to happen to them.

I used to when I was in a situation where I was surrounded by lots of people, but I haven't had one in a long time now. However, I still feel a bit frightened and anxious when in a situation where there are crowds of people. For example, people assume that because I am a woman, I must love shopping. I actually hate it because of the crowds.

yeah...occasionally....
It has been a while because I am not in public crowds that often.
When I go to concerts at other places I am prone to panic attacks..
Usually I will just start crying...but I have hyperventilated before.
Now if I go to a concert, I will often arm myself with xanax and blue lotus.

I've had them before--- it doesn't always even happen during the actual episode of "danger" either. I once had a horrible night at work and on the way home the stinkiness of the night just hit me all at once and I couldn't breathe or anything. i had to pull over and just try to breathe and calm down. I can usually prevent the actual panic if I get out of the place that's causing me severe anxiety--- even if it's just for a few minutes to calm down and stuff.
