I asked people in the chat room wether they played WoW (world of warcraft) and they said they didn't like it and some said they were scared! I have an AS diagnosis and i play WOW regulary and it dose't bother me much. Any ideas about why this is?

I dislike the concept because I had first hand experiance of war (it is n't pretty / a 'game') Having said that, if I hadn't, I may not have been DX'd upon my discharge Wink

I thought it was just me that was scared of them.

I used to play URU and enjoyed wandering around on my own in a virtual environment solving puzzles etc.

I logged on a few times to try the online version. The maps were the same so I was in a familiar place but I freaked out when I saw someone coming towards me.

It was like my territory was being invaded.

I play WOW now and then. I didnt like PvP servers
and when the monsters attack you for the first time it is a little stressful but once
you get used to it its cool.

I'm okay with them. I don't like PVP much where you can LOSE stuff.(IE:People can kill you and take stuff you drop. :S) I played Flyff for a while, then I got bored. Mythwar as well...though MMORPGs with forced roleplay I'm uncomfortable with...:S (Most MUDs, actually.)

I'm not scared, just bored of online RPGs. You also have to catch up on games like WoW, when everyone else is so far ahead, so rich.
MMORPGs also consume LOTS of time and can be highly addictive.
I prefer TESIV:Oblivion, and other single player RPGs, because you can play at your own pace. NPCs are also more interesting to talk to. Razz

There are others. Try the games
and sports section. Probably some
threads on it.

I'm not too excited by it myself.

im playing WoW right now on The Scryer realm. my character's name is Yuella. Right now it feels like a single-player rpg with an online chat feature since you can complete most things solo.

i used to play Ultima Online and Final Fantasy XI. I have to say the original concept of Ultima Online was the most pure form of MMORPG. Unfortunately, this kind of form allows people to scam, grief and do other stuff to hurt other people (almost like in real life, except that they cant go to jail for doing that stuff in UO).

I bet most aspies hate chat rooms even more. So you did not see a very realistic sampling of aspies. Aspies that could tolerate a chat room are atypical.

Oh gods yes. The things seem dreadful to me.
But, we seem to have a reasonable number who
use ours.

What Question Exclamation thats rubbish go in to the Wp chat room there 50 people in there!!! I did an Aspie Quiz and i got an aspie score 177/200 Razz and the report on the quiz said was above average on every section Razz Razz and i've been in loads of chat rooms. Someone who gets 177/200 isn't atypical.

Well, have you ever encountered WoW apathy in an Aspie? I have a brand new copy (well, it once was) of WoW sitting in my closet, and have never felt like installing it, even though I've seen it played before. A friend bought it for me despite the fact I expressed no interest in it. Oh well. Confused I never liked roll-playing games -- too much like real life. Laughing If a mod amends your poll to include apathy, I'll vote -- albeit apathetically, of course. Smile
