Free movie admissions for people in wheelchairs.

My tenacity in holding on to hope despite a life that makes that a challenge.

My church that has somehow decided it's okay for me to be odd and still hang out with them.

I have to show off about my students. I teach music, and recently:
2 of my clarinet students, who are in their penultimate year of primary school, were invited to play in a high school ensemble.
1 of my piano students was told that he was one of the 2 best students in his music class, and he was invited to join the school's instrumental music program next year despite not having done their usual prerequisites.
1 of my clarinet students got the Music Prize at her school (the highest grade in music out of the students in her year).

Very Happy

Waking up to snow falling down ALL DAY outside.

Driving around corners fast.

listening to all my favorite music in the car

umm....

having a good day where i don't get yelled at for screwing up, and when my little brother or sister don't scream there heads off so loud it hurts, or where your ears make that weird "wooo" noise it's so loud and high pitched.

having pepperoni pizza.

eating something really damned good when you've been famished all day.

having a deep one-on-one connection with another human...where you just feel so honest and good and accepted.

the sight of the sea bed as you silently snorkel, unable to hear any sounds from the above world, feeling the cool water brush against your skin as you propel yourself in slow motion through the blue, like you're flying. being able to get so close to such amazing fish and formations, feeling them as you run your fingers along them.

lying on the beach under the night sky. i like to imagine if i could just shoot straight up for lightyears and lightyears, where it would take me....

lying on the floor at a friends' house. it doesnt smell like your house, lying there, hearing good company talking in the other room, lying there with a warm, soft cat purring from under your arm, looking back appreciatively and brushing its whiskers and wet nose against yours.

sitting in my room, on my computer at 3 am, with a cuppa tea. completely alone, talking to a friend on the internet.

like so many people say, seeing the snow fall! i hardly ever get to see it, it's amazing when your in a car at night. Smile

i love some things so much.

meoblast001, i hope you find something good Sad. you just have to look. some material things we take for granted are so beautiful.

I might be starting to get over my fears. Or at least, learning to work through them a bit.

Yessssssssssss.

Today I got to see Temple Grandin speak. My mom went with me. After 26 years of her knowing me, it took today to make her "get it". To make her realize that I'm not lazy, stupid or just not applying myself where and how I should. That I'm not anti-social and that I don't experience the world anything like she does. That I work very, very hard at what I care about and that just trying to live in the world takes up all my energy-- that there's not much left for what she finds important. After 26 years, she has stopped hiding from the truth and just might be willing to accept me for who I am. This is a good thing.

Now to see how she reacts when she sobers up...

I've been back to being the real CockneyRebel for 10 weeks, or two and a half months, now. Has it really been two and a half months? It's amazing how much better I look without my hair spiked up. I look like a much nicer and sweeter person, which I am. I look like one of The Kinks. In fact, I'm listening to them right now, instead of The Sex Pistols and I have been, since the transformation. I'm no Ray Davies by any means, and I will never look like him, and I accept that. I'm quite happy with my looks. I haven't had an identity crisis for 8 weeks, now. I'm happy that I've turned out to be like Mick Avory in almost every way. I wouldn't have it any other way, and nor would Jesus.

I haven't picked up a Punk CD in three months now, nor have I listened to The Sex Pistols on YouTube in the same peroid of time. This is personally good for me, personally, bcause the Punk Rocker thing just wasn't working for me, towards the end. I knew that the end was nigh on Canada Day, late in the afternoon, when a superficial NT who calls herself my friend walked off on me, after I flashed the backwards peace-sign which means something really bad in England, at a bunch of Society Teens. I've also had three days that I've had crying jigs in front of people and over the phone, at the very end. I went back to being a Mod-like Kinks Fan the end of that week, and I haven't broke down on the phone, or in front of people, since than, except for that one night that the so-called friend snapped at me, in public at the Wal-Mart McDonald's, when I was having a meltdown...not a temper tantrum, as she had the nerve to call it. I'm doing very well. Smile

I love the feeling of writing code all by myself, without any tutorials, and watching it compile and run perfectly! Smile
