Watching this episode always leaves me with conflicting emotions. On one hand, I'm encouraged that someone with such a severe form of OCD was able to rise to the top of his field(s) and without hiding his condition, or trying to smother it.
On the other hand, it depresses me in a way, because I cannot see myself rising to the top of anything. I have this same reaction to every episode of House.
I am smart, and a very fast learner, and a creative problem solver. But I can't succeed in school. The only "normal" nightmares I have are the ones in which I go back to college and wind up screwing it up just as bad the second time around. I can't attend classes regularly; I can't complete my assignments; and I can't handle all the bureaucracy and red tape. Registering for classes? Forget it. Making advising appointments? Nope. Paying tuition? Buying a parking space? Planning my class schedule? No, no and no.
In a lot of ways, I can't function in the adult world. But I seem so "together" to many people that they won't help me, or can't, or just think that I'm being lazy.
How do these people with such obvious disabilities manage to complete things like MEDICAL school, of all things?!
Heh... if it weren't for school, I could probably be whatever I wanted to be. How sad is that?

| Excuse me...but Michael J. Fox has Parkinson's Disease which developed later in his life. He doesn't have OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). |

I think he means the character Michael J Fox played in a couple of 'Scrubs' episodes.

The character he played in the episode had OCD.
And Eialune, I don't think it's a good idea to compare yourself with that of a fictional character. Or anybody else for that matter. Do your thing the best you can, and please don't look to TV shows for comparison. They're not real, or possible to attain. Even the "reality" shows are fake.
For better inspiration, read biographies of real people who overcame adversity. Not only do they offer an actual person to use for inspiration, the books will give a clearer picture of how they overcame.
