I'm not treated badly, but at the same time, no one's all lovey-dovey on me.
Most of my bullying happened in elementary school and in 8th grade (I had transfered from a really awesome school to a far less academically-inclined environment). Now I'm in 10th grade, and I don't really receive much.

Most people just expect me to be the smart kid without a lot of friends now. There's still minor mocking, but nothing major.

I was bullied somewhat throughout the younger years of school, but now I get on pretty well with the class.

Though don't listen to that whole ''We take this seriously!'' crap. It's a problem everywhere and they just want to butter up their own school.

I faced no bullying in elementary school and played baseball with other kids at recess. They always wanted me to play cuz i could pitch a ball faster than anyone else. 4 kids gave me a really hard time in 7th and 8th grade, but they are from the trailor park nearby and have dropped out of school. I am now in 10th grade and have a close group of friends, who dont even know that i have AS.

Yeah I was badly bulllied all my school years. Got so depressed and all that crap and drama. Like no one cares at all. The teachers and the principal never really took care of my bully morons. So all though the school years I had no friends to talk too about how I feel inside and basically I was and still a loner today. I just don't trust anyone. Or care about anyone. Those school days sucked when the propular preppy kids get all the respect. I never was in a group of my own people and never was invited to events. No one took me seriously when being bullied. But when I decide to defend for myself they sure took me seriously thinking I am the bad guy

My elementary school experience, socially, was hell. Middle school was just lonely, but high school has been okay-ish so far. Granted, there's a lot more drama, and people can be a lot crueler, but I've learned to stick up for myself and even scare some people off.

Sounds about right for me as well, 5th grade was the worst for me in a private school where everyone pretty much had or pretended to have a Mercedes in their name. All the while me and my dad just got out of food stamps. That hellish social structure is well over now.

More or Less, I really don't care what people think of me. If they think I'm weird, then I'm weird. If others think I'm a pretty cool guy, then I'm cool.

I got bullied a bit in junior high and my freshman year, but eventually I hit a growth spurt and developed a short temper, as well as low tolerance for getting messed with. Once I got the build of a linebacker and an ever-present scowl, people stayed out of my way.

I have a son with AS. I worry a lot about him being bullied in school. Teachers and school administrators swear to me that this sort of thing is taken seriously these days and isn't ignored like it was when I was in school. They swear to me that bullying is not a problem in their school. I have found this very difficult to believe, mostly because I remember being harassed mercilessly when I was a teenager and I remember teachers being mostly clueless about it back then.

I realize that this may be a difficult topic for some, and I apologize for that. I am curious, though, about how teenagers with AS are treated by their peers. I want to learn how to help my son through this if he gets bullied. If you do have trouble with harassment from peers, is there anything you wish your parents would do to help?

hate to break it to you... but your kids probably getting a new asshole torn from him. I don't have AS and I still get sh** from people about how I'm "gay", "dumb", "fat", and so on.... yeah, they're pretty much clueless for the most part...
