Someone could, but they won't.
It's not the policy to allow username changes.
It causes confusion, especially with quoted text.

I expect that if you had, say, 10 posts or below your relative significance to the site would be low enough to allow a change.
But yeah, not usually given, unless it's potentially offensive.
