It's a stop smoking medication.

If you're on it, could you give a brief description of your side effects - good and bad and if you feel it works and whether the side effects are worth the benefits?

I smoked 2 packs a day (3 when I was married Very Happy ) for 26 years. I took the chantix for only about a month and a half and haven't had a cig in almost 14 months. (they STILL smell good, don't get me wrong, you do have to WANT to quit) My Boss was very supportive and is who stayed on me about quitting.
The only side affects I suffered was a little nausea, which quit when I broke down and made myself eat when I took the pills. And the "Vivid Dreams" which I found to be a AWESOME side affect (Made me want to keep taking it Very Happy ), but I try not to take anything so I weaned myself off them a month and a half early.
I would recommend them to everyone, I'm saving enough to make my car payment, and I feel GREAT!!! Lung capacity is now enormous (which is good news to me as I'm an avid biker)
It's SO worth it digger, I mean think about it, if you try it and it works your free from that addiction, if you try it and fail, you are where your at right now, so there's no harm in trying it.
It was painless also. It fills the nicotin receptor sites in the brain so your body is fooled into feeling like your still "getting your fix" all the while it's really coming off the addiction.
Your supposed to smoke on it the first week, but by the 4th day, my cig was very "unsatisfying". That feeling you get when you take that first hit, that little euphouria is GONE. It's easy to put down something that is unfulfilling. I had to chew on a straw for a littlwe while to overide the oral fixation and to have something to do w/ my hands, but that passed w/in a week or so.
